Hi,

Anyone already running a Fox 40 or considering it should have a look at the MORC 40's from Mojo Rising. The boxxers on the Kenevo Expert have a 44mm offset, whereas the Fox 40's are 52mm.

After fitting the Fox 40's my bike was okay on corners in technical tight decent's, but on flowing bermed tracks, or flat sweeping turns it lacked traction in the front. I would often ride high in corners or it would wash the front.

I fitted the MORC 40 last Friday and have done 120km's over the weekend with the flip chip set to 44mm. The bike still feels super stable on decent with the 203mm of travel, but has really come back to life in the turns.

I'm able to ride a lot more centred in the corners with plenty of confidence as the front has great traction again giving it more precision and responsiveness with way less rider input. Basically It turns like it's on tracks.

Well worth considering!

I thought a longer offset would put more mass over the front wheels giving more grip or is it the other way around !
Had some wild nights listening to Mr Mojo Rising ?

Presume you are running the 40's at 200mm of travel, vs the stock Boxxers 180mm? Could part of the issue be that raising the front end meant it was harder to weight? Has fitting the new crowns lowered the front end at all?

It moves the front wheel further away from the head tube making it slacker, so I need to bring my weight further forward then I normally would, otherwise the weight distribution has more of a rearward bias. Think of it like a trike with long forks or a chopper.

That would have no doubt added to the overall poor handling. Reducing the offset brings the axle back towards the BB, so it raises the front more than the slacker 52mm offset position. I’m running fewer bar spacers to raise the bars now to compensate. I could reduce them to 190 and make it turn even better, but at this stage I’m really happy with the handling now. I’d only go to 190 if I put a 29 on the front

Hi @Wic_ed1 this great info thanks!

I have a fox 40 29er in battleship off another bike. I’m going to install it on my 2021 kenevo expert. It’s still full 200mm at the moment.

I think I can still run a 27.5 wheel in it for now without too much issue. Will look a bit weird but I think going 29er all round should be a secondary experiment.

many tips on stems and bars? Also I heard @Christian managed to put 200mm on the rear too! Would be a beast!

many other tips welcome

I heard my name!
Yes I ran 29s all round and 200mm back and front, I think the shock measured 231/70 (original shock was an Ohlins TTX 22M 240/76) I also ran a 3mm offset bush in the bottom eyelet
It was an absolute mauler!
I also ran it with sicomtb guards and it had about 5mm clearance but never caused any problems. If you ride in mud and pick up sticks and rocks it could be an issue though.
Personally I love 29s over 27.5 or even a mullet set up but I don’t have a playful riding style.
As for stems, I ran a Commencal Alpha direct mount stem. Main reason, for looks, I just liked the simplicity of it and it done the job perfectly.
I now run a Renthal stem on my KSL as I needed slightly shorter.
If you like your DH bombing then Dual crowns all the way. They are more than fine for general xc/ trail riding too. I find I focus a lot more on line choices due to the lack of turning circle.
It’s also nice for those moments where you mis judged the gnarlyness of the trail and you have plenty of travel to spare. Saved me a few times

I used a custom offset bushing that I made myself, pretty easy.
For the fork, I ran an Ohlins DH 38 which got built to my weight.
