Hi guys, have any of you put fox 38 factory forks on a 2019/20 levo? How did you rate them. I don't want to put the 36e forks on as they are basically a beefed up 34.

I put one on my Pivot Shuttle to replace the stock Fox 36 Performance fork (which I had already upgraded to a Grip 2 damper). So far so good with the Fox 38. Feels like a *slightly* stiffer Fox 36 factory with a Grip 2, maybe slightly better small bump response.

I have installed a half dozen of them on customers bikes. The demand for them has been high, but supply has been weak, like most bike components.

I did a ride with one and it wasn’t the second coming. It was only marginally stiffer, but it felt significantly heavier. Small bump sensitivity was better than last years 36, but it’s not like that fork had terrible small bump sensitivity in the first place.
The 2021 36 Factory I rode was lighter, felt pretty much the same in the stiffness department and had better small bump sensitivity than any 36 I have ever ridden.
I think the 38 would be overkill unless I was going to need 170-180mm travel on a Kenevo or an enduro bike.
But, I have installed a 38 on a Levo SL (down country!) for a customer because money is money at the end of the day and Fox marketing has done all the heavy lifting for me as a Fox dealer.
Emtbs and components are like phones, something new comes out with a new feature or two (they changed a number) and all of sudden what I used to love is now shit.

160mm, 44mm offset Fox 38 on SL
170mm, 44mm offset Fox 38 on Levo and S-works Enduro

Got them for California Chunky trails. Also i'm quite chunky myself
Makes the bike a little heavier but i don't mind
So far so good. Rides like butter
The 36 performed just as well, but since i had to buy a new fork i went 38. Also for more travel
The crown is burlier and is more flush with the headtube
It's taking me more time to fine tune. Still playing around with volume spacers too
I've been taking the Enduro to Bike Parks to mess around with adjustments. SL will be next to try at park

I might be able to get a deal on a heritage pistachio to throw on to my kenevo...

No I was seeing if your statement was in a tone of persecution.
Only The Lord my God, is capable of deeming who is worthy of his heavenly kingdom.
I will pray your soul is ready for the time of the end when Jesus returns. My soul is ready

Just put a 38 170mm 44 offset on a couple of hours ago but now it's raining so have to wait a day to give it a go. I was running the stock Pike at 160mm and I also have the 160mm air shaft for the 38 if I find 170mm to much.

Are all these your bikes?!? You can single handily keep a specialized retailer in business with purchases like that. lol

I have a 38 on my enduro and love it. Yes it is heavier, but it also feels better than any air fork I have used before.

Looks like you got the fox mud guard for the 38?
I should of ordered when i had the chance. All sold out. That enduro is a fun bike. Send it! I just recently tried coil as fox sent me a dhx2 for free while they service the my float x2 under warranty. I couldn’t believe it when they told me to keep it when my x2 arrives. Their customer service is great.

my Olive Kenevo is missing from the pic
The blue levo and black kenevo used to be mine

I helped my brother build his gunmetal enduro. You may notice he swaps the enves between the enduro and his now levo

My rides currently:
2020 S-works Enduro
2020 Kenevo Expert
2020 Levo SL

Yes, but check this out. When I rode up at high elevation both times the bleeder valves leaked oil residue from in between where the fork mounts and the bolt. For some reason with the fox fender I could not get it to seal properly with the stock o-ring. May try cutting away the lower leg connection and hope the tiny bolts that mount to the arch are sturdy enough to hold the fender. And if that doesn’t work I can always punch a hole and secure it with a zip tie I suppose.

oh wow that’s not good
Especially when fluid can drip onto the brakes
Hopefully there’s a fix
Thanks for sharing that info

You’re welcome, I was looking for the service instructions for changing the air shaft and notice they had a write up on the fender and thought why the heck do you need instructions for that but was curious and read it. Not soon after I saw your post and thought this is exactly why they did a write up.

Thank You!!!
I didn’t think I needed to bring up an instruction manual to install a fender. But I guess sometime you have to be smarter than the product if you are not going to read the instructions.

Did you leave the spacers on?
