Have a set of Fox Factory 38s at 170mm travel on my 2022 Focus Sam, it's coming up to 2 years old and although the forks have been serviced around the 1 year mark was thinking of trying to buy the new X2 damper at 180mm and fitting them up.
Wondering if any of you have already been down that road and where you sourced the damper and how hard is it to do it at home yourself?

I put a Grip X2 damper in my six-month-old Grip 2 fork, and it was totally worth it. If you can do a lower service on your fork, you already know how to remove the damper. Increasing travel isn't much different. You just yank the air shaft and replace it with a longer one. Whether or not your fork is compatible with the new parts is something entirely different. I don't know about that.

I had my bike shop order it from Fox.

Update:
I was in the shop today and was told that while Fox is currently taking orders, they aren't giving ETA's at this time.
