"FORM OVER FUNCTION"
When I went into my motorbike shop and saw this

i didn't think wow, that won't go round a corner like Valentino Rossi ......
And it won't tour round the world like Ewan McGregor......
I just thought, that makes me smile & gave me a tingle in my gentleman's area......
Told him to have it ready for Saturday......handed him £12,250 ......
Then got it home, spent another £3000 getting just how I wanted......

Then thought I needed a new helmet to match the bike..... IMG_0433.JPG

This also happened when I went to look at this.....
IMG_0095.JPG
I didn't think, oh that's not got the latest geometry ......
Or oh that's the one with the engine that makes a bit of noise ......
Or it's not the one that everybody else rides........

I don't care, I just want a bike that makes me smile every time I go out and ride it.......

What I'm trying to say is, if you like a bike, it doesn't have to be too everybody's else's taste.......
" ONLY YOU MATTER "
95% us use these bikes to mess about in the woods....we are not world champions
SO IF YOU LIKE IT ....BUY IT ....& bollocks to everybody else ?

Loving you all Mad Mark ❤️

Awesome bike that Mark! It looks an absolute beast. I am rubbish when it comes to nakeds, but I would hazard a guess it’s an Aprillia? Helmet totally compliments the bike too, great choice!

Two wheels often affect me the same way and I often but more with my heart than head. Several times I've popped out for a wee motorbike ride, called into the bike shop and ridden something different home! Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 arriving in March :)

I’m the same with cars, it can be the best car in the world but if I don’t like the look of it I’m not buying it.
If it has the plastic silver the japs think we like I ain’t buying it.

So it’s vw or Audi, black boring dash but that’s the way I like it.

I have owned a series of inappropriate motorbikes purely because I like the way they looked/the idea of them. Probably the best/worst of them being an early 2000's Husky SMR570R, basically a pure race supermoto with a number plate, that wanted to kill me from the moment I fired it up, but also had me wanting to fire it up more than any other bike I had. It was a good thing it got stolen after 2 months as I probably wouldn't have survived the love affair

I did the same with a street legal cr 450 r, but what a bike.
Tried to kill me on more than one occasion
But I never regretted buying it because it made me smile
This is my point, don't be afraid to buy something because a few people tell you not to.
If you like it, you buy it ?

So many riders say that it doesn't matter what colour it is because you can't see it when you're riding it through the mud. It is usually said or written in such a way that it means that to be choosy about how it looks is to be, shall we say, "in touch with your feminine side".

Well I say bollocks to that!

My first selection criteria is the "look back factor". I do it with cars also. When I walk away from it do I feel that I have to look back at it? If not then there is no point in me even giving it a test ride.
My wife passed that test too, still does!
The "look back" test I mean! oo err!
