"Hello everyone,

I have a Focus Sam2 6.8 2022 and I'm considering upgrading to a SRAM AXS (GX) electronic derailleur or possibly the new SRAM Transmission T-Type system. I’m aware that the compatibility of these systems can depend on specific frame and drivetrain configurations.

Does anyone know if the Focus Sam2 6.8 2022 is natively compatible with either of these systems? If not, are there any adapters or modifications (e.g., UDH or other derailleur hanger solutions) that could be used to make them work?

Any insights or recommendations from those with experience in similar upgrades would be greatly appreciated!"

My earlier Focus Jam2 is running a SRAM AXS GX rear derailleur, basically they hang off the standard hanger that your bike already has so will fit. You could probably just change the shifter and rear mech, if your bike already has 12 speed Shimano then you could keep the chain ring, chain and cassette.

A Transmission upgrade is a bit more involved and requires a SRAM UDH to mount to, not sure if your Sam2 has one of those even if you remove the conventional hanger?

Even if your frame has a UDH, you’d also need to change the cassette, and chain as a minimum to make it all work as designed.

If you just want wireless shifting, then standard SRAM AXS is the easiest and cheapest way, if you want the durability of a Transmission setup on top then a lot more bits to change, and you need the UDH.
