Flyon or PWX2 ?

Recently got into the scene through the purchase of a 2nd hand Flyon...

My experience;

Incredible power
Beautiful integration
Weight brings stability on the way down

Battery life prob 35-40 miles in my experience (I'm a big guy but used to cycling + spend most of my rides in eco/low/medium only use the higher modes for a burst on very steep hills)
This thing is seriously heavy - I hadn't prepared myself so how much 28kg really is when lifting in/out of the car etc.

So I'm completely sold on the eMTB scene, though I'm enjoying it that much I'd like to buy one new and have the benefit of a warranty if something goes wrong... I've heard rumours that the Flyon (TQ) motor isn't being carried forward, so tempted with the PWX2 even though it's less power (less weight too of course)...

Has anyone experienced both, will I be disappointed dropping from 120nm to 85nm ?

I have a Giant with a PW-X (I think it may be ~70Nm). It's more than powerful enough to haul my enormous frame up some pretty steep inclines. I can normally get around everywhere with only the low (125%) and middle(175%) power modes.

Just for info the Haibike PW-X2 is only 70nm unless you use the Extra Power mode that does release the full 80nm.

Having swapped from a Haibike Fullfat 10 that weighed the same as your Flyon to a lighter Allmtn2, I think that will make up for the lower maximum power.

And you won't dread arriving at stiles or locked gates!

The PW-X2 motor Is excellent. I have an Allmtn 7 and almost never use the Extra power mode. The standard mode is amazing so i leave it there 99.9% of the time. Best hillclimb bike I have ever had. I did a back to back with the new Levo SWORKS last week on a super steep rooty climb, and it took me 7 goes on the Levo, and I did it first go on the Haibike. The longer chainstays help too, but the motor just seems to hit harder at lower cadence. It's not up there with FLYON for power, which I have also ridden a lot, but I think the PW-X2 is a better all round motor.

Spot on... I was also slightly concerned at rumours that Haibike aren’t doing the TQ motor going forward so makes sense to stick with the PWX2 since it’s obviously a very capable package ! ?
