Hello

I just got a Focus sam2 6.8 170mm travel ebike...
The tires is schwalbe magic mary 2. the website says 1250 grams. is there some lighter, faster tires out there, with less rollingresistance???
I mainly ride fast single track, no jumps or hucks, nothing crazy.
If anybody got some test, please show them

Thanks !

Almost certainly faster rolling than Marys.
But obviously won't be good for loose or wet conditions

Specialized 2.6 inch Hillbilly Grid is really good for wet conditions where I live and $60 per tire in the US. Not quite as good traction and braking in dry conditions as Maxxis tires. 2020 versions have a much stiffer sidewall which can be run at lower pressures without pinch flats tubeless. I would recommend it. Mine weigh 940-980 g. Much faster rolling the Maxxis tires but I've never had Magic Mary.

you're not compating the same compounds.
a hillbilly would roll slower than many many maxxis tyres

Well was comparing it to Maxxis DHF 2.5 x 29 front EXO and DHR II 2.4 x 29 EXO rear, and I was faster on our scary, greasy, wet roots and rocks loop with the hillbillies than the maxxis combination every time. Can't say that it rolls faster or slower on tarmac as I never compared there. However I will say that the quicker times might have been simply because of better control with the hillbillies in the sense that they would only slide out sideways a few inches and then grab/hold whereas the maxxis would just keep sliding on our particular mud, roots and greasy rocks. That's just my experience and different mud, roots, rocks might give different results. Also, the Maxxis set was definitely faster in dry conditions with better braking and traction over dry roots and other obstacles.
