Looking to take the family to the Alps. Bit of cycling bit of hiking. So looking for somewhere with a train station and ski lifts. Easy blue/green mountain bikes routes not black runs. Or just family cycling stuff. Ideally somewhere a little quieter than the big ones my fellow Brits seem to congregate to.

I’d like to be able to get the Eurostar / train and hire bikes there.

France, Austria, Italy? Not looking to spend a fortune and will need to feed 3 kids.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
Alpbach is known for its stunning views and family-friendly atmosphere. It has easy blue and green bike routes, and the area is less crowded compared to some of the larger resorts. You can take the train to Brixlegg, which is just a short bus ride away from Alpbach. There are bike rental shops available in the area, and you can enjoy plenty of hiking trails as well.

Morzine offers a good mix of activities with easy cycling routes and scenic hiking paths. It’s part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, so there are plenty of ski lifts available in the summer. You can take a train to Cluses and then a bus to Morzine. The town has various bike rental shops, and you’ll find many family-friendly options for dining.

Both locations offer beautiful scenery and activities without the overwhelming crowds of the bigger resorts. Plus, you can find affordable food options to feed your three kids. I hope you have an amazing trip!
