Fake Bosch Email

I received an email today with a link that looks like it’s from Bosch. I haven’t clicked on anything but it looks very suspicious. Anyone else receive this type of email?

“Dear Mr./Ms. xxxxxxxx.
Due to organizational reasons, all future commercial activities of Robert Bosch GmbH in North America will be taken over by Robert Bosch LLC.

This affects your eBike Connect app and portal, which will exclusively be operated by Robert Bosch LLC as of 08.09.2020. Therefore, to continue using the eBike Connect app and portal, your user agreement needs to be transferred from Robert Bosch GmbH to Robert Bosch LLC. We will explain how this works in the section “Contractual information“ below.

This change aside, eBike Connect services will remain unaffected.

Contractual information

The adoption of the eBike Connect app and portal by Robert Bosch LLC makes it necessary for you to convert your previous user agreement with Robert Bosch GmbH to Robert Bosch LLC. For this it is necessary to conclude a new user agreement with Robert Bosch LLC. it goes on and includes a link which probably ask for your password and other information. Do you think my email was passed on via Bosch?

Why not ask Bosch directly by using the contact form on their website?

I’ve done that but I was curious if anyone else has received this type of email or information. The email looks legitimate but the contents seem suspicious. Bosch may respond to my inquiry in a few days (or not at all).

received this email response from Bosch this morning.

Dear Mr./Ms. xxxxxxxx

We are sorry, but we had an issue with yesterday`s e-mail [08.09.2020].

You will now find the correct documents attached.

By clicking the link in our previous e-mail, you accept the Robert Bosch LLC terms of use, as found attached to this mail.

We kindly ask for your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
