I really like the Stamps too. The Oneup is slightly thinner so I prefer those - but does it matter? Meh, no not really.

But if one wanted to use crank boots the Stamps take the cake.

I add a second washer and the Oneup works just fine with crank boots. In recent rides I’ve had a few pedal strikes that just barely hit the bottom flat of the pedal, so the thinner profile of Oneup makes a huge difference.

I have bought the Burgtec composite pedals. They are a little smaller than my current RockBros. I will test it tomorrow on the trails.

I tested Burgtec pedals today and I had equally good pedal-boot surface-connection as with my oversized RockBros. What is equally important, no pedal strikes today.

I would be keen to find out where are they made, as the fit and finish is indistinguishable from my CN-made RockBros.

The pic was posted to show relative size. Some dirt and discolour after 2000km are fine by me … old RockBros are still in a good rolling condition.

Do you judge performance on colours and fonts?

I judge pedal performance on platform size, shape, design and material. Axle and bearing materials and quality and pin placement.

Those RockBros lose on every count.

Ok. So, I'm in the market for some new pedals for a new build and thought I'd go with the HT Components PA12 for £21.99.

Gotta be honest, the packaging did make me laugh. "Seriously, how is Nukeproof not taking offence to HT Components using the word 'EVO' on their packaging" .

Anywho, initial observation reveals that the pedals (as expected), are similar to my Nukeproof Neutron Evos and Funn Magic Pedals. However their are slight differences which its only when I have them in hand, the differences (subtle) can be seen.
For starters, it appears that the HT Components pedal protrude out further than my Neutron Evos and the Magic Pedals. It's not the thread length, moreso the axle length. In addition, extracting the pedal may prove problematic as you're only option is the 6mm allen key. Both Neutron Evos and Magic Pedals still retain a grove for the use of a pedal spanner if push comes to shove (although, you will tarnish your crank using spanner).

Unclear at this stage whether pins, axles, bearings are cross compatible but I'll tinker with them later this weekend when I've got free time.

The Nylon material seems identical so that's good. The spindle to pedal tolerance seems decent so they shouldn't snap unexpectedly.

Funnily enough, there was no left or right marker on either pedal so had to eyeball it by looking at the thread direction (last thing I want is to cross-thread a crank).

The platform of the pedal seems the same but again, it protrudes out further abit. But my size 16's just by balancing them on the pedal platform seem wide enough.

It's early days but thought I'd share my initial impressions and observations

I just buy the Fookers. You know, the knock offs on Amazon. $20. I personally like plastic pedals. They never bend from pedal strikes like I've had aluminum do. They always look new and not ratty like aluminum does after 3 rides. Never had an issue and I probably have bought 5 sets at least. Now, I'm not doing 10' drops or anything wild either. Just normal single track here in the mid west.

HT, Wellgo, VP and other large pedal manufactures all make pedals for many other brands.
it's litterally how they run their business
