Does anyone use one of these or similar? I like the idea of carrying extra water bottle / battery extender in the side holders, I have a new Rise M-Team, I had Orbea Wild previously and a larger Evoc that carried a second 500w battery in a centre pocket.

I actully use an Evoc hydrating back pack for longer trips (Amazon). But I mostly use an Osprey hip pack daily that carries a bottle of water on each side. Both the companies make an outstanding build quality and hence the higher prices. Try the Osprey hip pack off Amazon from the Osprey store. If you don't like it,
Amazon has easy returns. But "you will" like this Osprey. I rarely use the Evoc with it's bladder in it becasue it's a pain to clean it frequently. Plastic water bottles are much more sanitary IMO.

That is great thank you, I am like yourself, I prefer a water bottle to a bladder
Just don't reuce the bottles more than a few times. They devleop small cracks in the plastic which harbor germs. The you wonder why you are riding the ebike and you get the runs 🙀. I always carry a few pills of Imodium in my pack. Best stuff ever. Pains are gone within 5 minutes. Also, don't keep any plastic water bottles in a hot car. Heat will make the bad stuff in the plastic leech out into your water.

I always give them a good clean, a good tip years ago for my road bike bottles was to keep the empty bottle in the freezer, seems to work for me :) hopefully not cursed myself now !

Wow - I've been using the same couple of plastic waterbottles for years now. I just put them through the dishwasher.

I have a Osprey Siskin 8 i take on longer rides which has a hydration sleeve. I occasionally put a sterilising tablet in it, to clean it out properly. It lives in the freezer to save it going yucky!

Ya, I rinse out the bladder and store it in the freezer too. I have the whole kit with the pills too. Bladders are still a pain it the ass. Plastic bottles are easier for short trips. I use the $10 Fox water bottles off Amazon too on both bikes. Along with the Osprey hip pack thats like over 50 q

Yep, when I do use the bladder I rinse and drain and store it in freezer too. Still, plastic bottles are some much cleaner if only used a few times. I also try and not touch the bottle to my lips. It's the bacteria in one's mouth that makes the bottle smell. Most of the time the two 17 oz water bottles in my hip pack and the Fox bottle on my ebike is in total 55 oz (I wish that was in Chardonnay or beer though 🤣). These Fox bottles are cheap, squeezable, squirtable and BP free too:

😂

I've been using some bike bottles for years and years, I don't have the squits after riding...

Wash them and now and again put them in the dishwasher....

Have you considered your diet/health? :D

Well you do you! I tend not to cheap out when it comes to my health just to save some bucks and keep reusing the same plastic water bottles 🙄

I have used both.
Seral felt long on my butt and the bag would clip my seat. The straw length was the biggest issue, it came loose and wrapped up in my drivetrain just after a jump line, tossed it after that.
Evoc customer support sucks, Velcro has broken on the bladder strap on 2 packs. But you can find them for cheap enough on Amazon that it’s still my go to pack.

You've posted a link to prove me right....??

"Single-use plastic water bottles are everywhere"

"It should be safe to reuse a disposable water bottle as long as it is in good shape without cracks or signs of wear, and you keep it clean"

If you're buying new reusable water bottles and still having to take immodium all the time you need to get that looked in to!! 😂 :D

Or just keep buying new bottles and taking the buttplug tablets, it's up to you as you say... 😂

On a more serious note, bladders not bottles are for more likely to go mouldy as they are harder to clean and dry properly - as are the tubes and mouthpieces, but that's not what you were saying.... (y)(y)

I wear one pretty regular at the bike parks. Never really had a problem. You just have to find one that fits you well. I went through a couple before I found one that works for me.

I’m leaning towards the evoc pro 3L with bladder, hopefully will be a snug fit, majority of my riding is at bike park wales so want something as light as possible but with a bladder
