Does the 2019 Levo battery actually fit inside the above pack ? Looking for a backpack that does

If it's the one that Rob reviewed then the answer is yes, but only just, and only if you remove the bash guard first. I haven't found anything that one'll comfortably fit in yet but it's a pretty weighty beast to be carrying around anyway.

Yeah I've just seen that video and I don't fancy for that price having to place the battery in at an angle so It'll be uneven and having to remove the bash guard just seems pointless.

Was hoping that EVOC would have updated their packs to enable the newer batteries to be carried

I have the Evoc. It’s a tight fit with the bash guard off and the battery hits me in the helmet often when heading downhill. Particularly distracting in the steeps. I tried it and will not do it any more. Helmet tipped into sight.

you dont have to have the e-bike version, any FR trail the same size will work. I have one with the hydration pack in as well as the spare battery.if you unzip the dry cover zip at the bottom it creates a little more room..
overall its a very good pack, ive done flow, tech and adventure riding with it and its solid

Just bought the 2020 model in black and will receive it tomorrow and bought a 2L water bladder from Decathlon to go with it. Hope it does the job...

overall its a very good pack, ive done flow, tech and adventure riding with it and its solid

yes - I bought this one: FR TRAIL UNLIMITED 20l - EVOC - PROTECTIVE SPORTS PACKS

but it doesnt have the battery pocket so you can choose how you want the battery a little to make room for the water carrier, I got my wife to sew some small straps to hold it in place so its not moving around inside. still plenty of room for tube, pump, tools etc..

deffo fits the battery - with the bashguard removed.

I received the E-RIDE yesterday... yes it was pricey but at least it's a very well engineered and quality bag. It oozes quality with heavy duty yet light materials, a good waist strap system and plenty of space. I can see that the 2019/2020 model has the extended battery compartment flap to fit the Bosch 615w battery too. When it's fully strapped up it seems to sit very securely on the body and can't easily be pulled up my back so should be pretty stable with a battery in it at high speeds. Looking forward to trying it.

Today will be my first time using the EVOC E-ride, though without a spare battery inside.

For testing purposes this morning I tried out the water bladder and battery storage together. I am 178cm tall and of a slim and athletic build.

1. Battery:

I put my main and currently only battery, a Bosch Powertube 625, into the bag and wore it for quarter of an hour to feel the weight. First of all, it fits like a glove, absolutely perfectly, it's like the bag was made for this battery. The flap goes over snugly and it stays in place and perfectly balanced. If you have a Bosch battery, this is the bag for you. You can certainly feel the weight, but the bag is very adjustable and the weight seems evenly distributed. The battery feels very stable. I guess I will need to wait until I buy a spare battery and go for a long ride to really test it.

2. Water bladder:

2. I bought a 2L Decathlon water bladder (SPORT TRAIL MTB WATER BAG ADULT - 2L Hydration Bladder ) and installed into the bag. It also fits perfectly and I think I have routed the tube properly on the bag but maybe this can be improved a bit. Either way the tube length is perfect for me and has plenty of reach to my mouth without being too floppy or short. I think you could further improve how it sits on the bag simply by using elastic bands on the straps.

3. Bike Lock:

For the moment I have put the Abus U-lock in the same compartment as the back protector, flat against it. I am not sure if this is a good idea for areas where I really think I may fall on my back, but for normal riding I think it's fine and means no space in the main compartment is used.

4. Space left for other stuff:

So, with the battery and water bladder installed there are two main areas of space either side of the battery which will be big enough for waterproofs or a light change of clothes and some toiletries and snacks. If you are traveling light and aren't a total princess that you can surely do a weekend trip/tour with this bag.

Other compartments:

It also has a:

• helmet web on the front that, believe it or not, due to the strap adjustability actually easily fits a standard helmet with everything in installed. Awesome;
• front compartment that you can fit a few things in such as power bank etc;
• side pocket for a display that you can use for that or anything else small;
• webbing-esque pouch for a water bottle or umbrella or whatever;
• bumbag-style pouch on the waist strap that I will use for keys;
• other little zips and pockets for bits and bobs;

Preliminary verdict:

Wow. It's rare I am genuinely impressed with a bag I buy, but I would say that this bag upon initial impressions seems actually worth the high price they charge for it. The quality of the workmanship seems extremely high and there is a lot of thought that has gone into the design, with so many convenient bits of storage that at the moment I can't think of anything I am missing.

When I have used it for a while and done some more/longer rides then I will update the review . In the meantime, if you have any questions fire away.

Only adjustment I did was to cut a hole at the base of the battery compartment to allow it to go all the way to the base of the rucksack.

This rucksack only comes in 1 size M/L but its ideal for the 2019 battery with adjustments

Thanks for the pics, I'm leaning toward this a a solution when my 700wh batteries arrives in July-hopefully. I'm also looking at the Osprey line of bags. I have an Atmos AG for camping - it's is great for it's air flow and ventilation. Any body use one of these?

It looks like it would carry a 19/20 battery but doesn't have the dedicated sleeve so would need some mods

Only adjustment I did was to cut a hole at the base of the battery compartment to allow it to go all the way to the base of the rucksack.

This rucksack only comes in 1 size M/L but its ideal for the 2019 battery with adjustments

I have the same bag but in the grey/blue. I had some extra material and Velcro sewed and extended it onto the top and the bottom strap so it is strapped in nicely.

It is a bit tight though closing the zip up were it meets the battery but frees up once passed which may possibly ruin the zip over time.

I have carried mine on a few rides good rides and the bag really holds the weight well, but I am used to carrying a backpack with a spares kit, water & snacks but I’m on an e bike.

What would be great is for Specialized to drop 10 cells from a 504WHr battery and give us a smaller 378WHr as a range extender battery that would be great in a backpack!

I did the same as mentioned before with the Levo 2019 battery and the black evoc fr e-ride 20. Just wanted to show the result. It works really good, just little tight and the bash guard has to be removed.

I purchased one for a longer excursion during the summer and it worked great. I snipped the bottom of the battery sleeve to allow the battery to fall a little deeper into the pack and everything fits and wears well, still tight but it fits with no head banging, no sloshing about, everything stays put and rides well. You do have to take off the bash guard and a battery swap takes a quick minute. Not to mention being a heavy pack with water and a battery, but you knew that. If I was going to use it everyday I would reinforce the bottom where the battery contacts the bottom of the pack. I have a 2019 Levo Comp.
