EP8 internal gear removal

How do I pull out the gears from inside the ep8? (Not the main bearing and axle) I've seen a video and it looks like they snap out but I've been pulling hard and no such luck.
Am I missing a trick?

I've managed it - just takes quite a bit of force on the larger metal right hand cog above. Watch out there are seals in the bottom of each recess!
