EMTB Insurance, Who has it?

Soon to purchase my first EMTB and it's a significant amount of money, thinking it might be wise to get some insurance but from what I've read there are a lot of rules and stipulations that must be met.

Mainly looking for theft cover but accidental damage could be good as well, I'm totally clueless as to what's claimable though?
would stacking it on a trail and snapping a frame be covered for instance? or is it more for bodged maintenance issues.

Has any one claimed for accidental damage, if so what was it for?

I've read of people adding them to their home insurance but from what I can make out this might not give you all the benefits of a stand alone policy.

Any info and recommendations to check out

I went with Assetsure, £29 a month and I think the excess is £75. The bike was insured for £7150 and includes accidental damage. I could have gone through my contents insurance for cheaper but wanted the accidental damage.

I’ve not had to use it yet but they get very good reviews.

I don't I looked into the cost and it seemed so expensive it wouldn't be worth it.
I keep my bike in the house and I don't leave it unattended anywhere.

I'm not convinced if someone stole the bike from you whilst you were riding it that most policies would cover you anyway, especially if you just handed it over without a beating.

Anyone tries to steal my bike and I'm going down fighting, shame it's so heavy I couldn't really use it as a weapon unlike my other bikes where you could easily swing it at someone.

Called my insurance company to enquire about bike insurance. They told my my domestic insurance covers me for theft up to €3k.
Covers my bike for sure !

Thanks for the input guys, it does seem they want you to jump through hoops to guarantee cover.

I'm looking to insure around 5k, my home insurance only covers up to 1k.
I can keep the bike indoors but it's not ideal.

As you I'm not planning to leave the bike unattended but it still worries me even leaving it chained in the garage.

Then there's the benefit of accidental cover, but I'm guessing this is different for every policy on what they will cover.

We have house insurance with MBNA and I have added all my bikes to the house policy. As my current emtb is only weeks old it was added on a new for old basis at full market value (provided I sent evidence of purchase in my name and price), the increase in premium for this was negligible. Not all insurance companies are the same though, that’s why I checked the bike cover before we signed up for the policy.
Insurance is no substitute for proper security though. I have cameras, ground anchors, massive motorbike chains and padlocks that cost more than my granddaughters bikes.

I use Pedal cover for house and bikes in one policy as its the cheapest way
Accidental cover included on bikes and new for old
Covered by directline insurance
have not had a claim but always well priced and good to deal with .
