Elbow pad recommendations please

I'm in the market for some elbow pads. Currently considering Troy Lee 5550, Fox Racing Enduro, POC, Dakine Slayer(to match my knee pads ) and G-Form Elite. The problem with the latter is the sizing chart makes no sense. The biceps measurement says I am XS and the forearm measurement says I'm XL and there is a gap in the progression of sizing. I'm currently favouring the Troy Lee's as I can get them for £35 which is considerably less than some of the others. Although price is not my over-riding concern POC seems a little expensive in comparison. Personal recommendations appreciated.

Not one of the one’s you’re looking at but I’ve got Race Face Ambush pads which I’m very happy with.

I got medium size as I’m 5’9” tall and medium build and their sizing seems spot on. The pads stay in place and don’t slip down which is the main thing.

Dilemma over I've ordered the Dakine Slayer ones. They seem to be a good compromise, match the knee pads, which are very good by the way and cost less than £40. Thank you for your advice. I decided I had faffed around long enough

I have had a set of TLD elbow guards for several years now. They are light, breathable (ie not sweaty) and washable. I found that the TLD size guide was accurate. I doubt they are as protective as plastic faced armour against pointy rocks at speed, but for sliding skids on gravel, and unanticipated dismounts they do the job very well indeed. Mine go in the washer at 40degC after every ride and they have still retained their elasticity and the grip on the skin. They are slim line enough to fit underneath my windproof or my waterproof without any difficulty at all. I'm wearing them in my signature pic (left). I've had them for years and they still look good. Recommended unless you want them for DH.

I also have had a similar experience with the TLD knee/shin guards, but they have had a harder life from pedal strikes, brambles, and somehow I seem to land harder on my knees. I'm just on my second pair.

I hope they are still making them when I need some more!

I realise this is too late, but your observation that the g form dimensions are weird is true - the elite seems to have an unusually large biceps size and slips down the 3 people who have tried on the set I bought ( we all use their older, thinner version)

My theory is they are designed for multiple different sports, and all those us baseball players spend a lot of time flexing their biceps rather than gripping bars?
