Ebike Conversion Kits

I'm new to EMTB and I don't have an ebike yet. I plan to convert a used full suspension mtb that I recently purchased using a mid-mount conversion kit. I'm interested in thoughts about what are the best conversion kits, how much motor power and battery do I need, etc. I'm in the northern US (Wisconsin) and plan to use this bike for backwoods exploration ---old trails, fire roads, snowmobile trails, etc.
Thanks, John

Hi, I had the lift Mtb system on my transition bottlerocket. It was fun with a capital F. it’s pedal dependent but you dial in the assistance with a small thumb throttle. i have more details but the website and YouTube channel are a wealth of info. Cool thing, I miss it despite my Sworks levo.
so that’s, Lift-Mtb. French outfit, run by a top level racer called Matthue.

Thanks for the info and pics. I will check out Lift. How many watts was the motor? And I don't see a battery---did you carry that in a pack?
Thanks again

Hi, yes different sizes of battery pack are available to suit requirements. They are carried in a pack. However the system is very light in terms of the motor etc, I think 7lb overall without battery. Motor is very powerful in use, about 450w nominal and 750w peak. Broadly it’s very similar to my levo In performance. undoubtedly somewhat faster but not a motorbike in any way. Hope this helps.
