E6010 controller swap

Looking to change the controller for the Shimano E8000 to make room for an under bar dropper remote.

Does anyone know if the E6010 works with the E8000 or made the swap themselves.
Any recommendations for an under bar dropper remote?

Yes, it works the swap is really simple 'plug and play'.
I have a BikeYoke Triggy remote it's absolutely awesome.

The 6000 and 6010 both work.

The new e7000 controller will be available shortly, but this will not have the menu button like on the 6000 or 6010. However it will probably be the best switch unit in terms of control positioning.

I have the E6000 on both my bikes, the cable for it come out of the bottom at the back and can fowl dropper remotes the sit close to the bar, depending on how far back/forward you position the lever.

I have a Woolftooth remote and when fully pressed back it rubs the controller cable, though in reality i never push it this far back as it actuates quite early in the swing of the lever

Thanks for the replies, I have been looking at the 6010 but I notice most of you have gone for the 6000, might consider this as the more stealth option.

Definitely want to change this around as I use the dropper more than changing the power settings.

I think the E6010 is too big - although I have never seen it in life just in pictures. 6000 is good and you can play with the placement. I don't need it too close to the grip because I don't change the mode very often and this way it doesn't interfere with the dropper remote.

I know a few people with the E6010 - It is bulkier, and also longer which will effect where you can put the other controls. However it is probably the easier of the two to use, as the Buttons on the E6000 are quite close and some have found easy to hit wrong button.

I was waiting for the E7000 but I was disappointed about the missing third button. Also, it will be more expensive (60€) than the E6000 (43€) although I wouldn't care if it had all three buttons...

wish they'd hurry up. My E8000 levers have been bent and straightened twice now and the plastic case rotates/rattles slightly. Got a replacement for free but don't want to fit it. The E7000 looks ideal for me placed right up against the grip with the dropper remote between it and the brake lever.
Sort of similar to your set up but all bunched together closely as I ride with the outside of my palms overhanging my outer grips.

Dumb question: The E8000 selector does not have a menu button/switch , so the menu selector is the small button on the controller?
And on the E6000 selector the 3rd selector button is a little more convenient to use rather than the small button (on the controller)?

Correct - basically you can scroll through the menu using the controller - in reality its not that much of a benefit because you are never going to be using the menu button when hammering down a trail, but it makes it easier to check things like range or time without pulling over or slowing right down.

The E7000 range is quite interesting - they also do a smaller display, which isn't colour, and this gizmo which allows you to eliminate the display, but still maintain bluetooth/e-tube connectivity.

Also an identical but right sided switch to the E7000 Controller for DI2 equipped bikes, i.e if you wanted you could bin the trigger shifters and just have buttons.

Another Dumb Question /Observation. The E8000 controller is very bright. Great during the day, but would be too bright if doing a night ride. Can it be subdued ?- does make the E7000 controller look more attractive from the night ride point of view.

You mean the display? Yes the Brightness of the E8000 display can be altered. The E7000 i have no idea as it hasn't been released yet, but would assume so - the E7000 range is the level down from E8000, and one thing Shimano IMO nailed with the E8000 is the display. I can see what some may want to not have a display, but i wouldn't swap the E8000 for the E7000.

it has a brightness level but even on the dimmest setting it's annoyingly bright at night.

Car window tint or similar stuck over it would dull it down

Hi...I continue to have E020 followed by E10 errors. LBS talked with Shimano. Shimano says its a connection problem between battery and motor.They have asked the LBS to open up motor to check connections.
