is your bike a mullet? I only ask because mullets usually go larger on the rear, being a smaller wheel. There's quite a few threads and comparisons on them.
I love mine. 2019 kenevo. Went with a 2.6 on the front and a 2.8 on the rear.
Very confidence inspiring. Fast rolling and low noise compared to say dhr dhf. Much better wet grip on roots/rocks than the butcher's.
In super wet sloppy mud they'll sometimes spin half a revolution then bite and grip.
No punctures/flats.
Quiet and fast on road sections
Amazing in the dry.
Would probably put a 2.6 on the rear next time to make the bike theoretically turn easier, saying that, I love how it goes now, so who knows.
The 2.8 rear is considerably heavier built than the 2.6 front.
Edit.. DOH ! That's on standard rims.
In a way it is ? rather than a reverse mullet.is your bike a mullet? I only ask because mullets usually go larger on the rear, being a smaller wheel.
This is making the assumption you have precise steering and don't use the "close your eyes and hope" method ...Otherwise you loose precise steering.
I have a couple of hardtails where I do this - higher volume tyres on the rearIn a way it is ? rather than a reverse mullet.
27.5 and 27.5, but the 2.6 on the front is about 5mm "shorter" than the 2.8...
So it's a bit like a Raleigh Chopper...
You don't really notice to be honest.
Just about to do the sameI run 2.6 and 2.8 works great!!!
