Hi, wanting to purchase an emtb, its main use will be trails, some descents and steps nothing to extreme. can anyone advise if the Vitus e sommert VR would be suitable or if its overkill? Originally was going for the Trek powerfly then saw this and thought it was great value. thoughts appreciated.?

Hi mate, welcome.
Loads of VR owners here. It's a great bike. Is it overkill? Probably (for trails) but doesnt mean it wont be a huge load of fun. Plenty of folks riding a 180mm Kenevos on trails :)

It's what I use mine for, couldn't see the point in shorter travel when you have a motor to get you up the hills

cheers for the swift replies, so the VR is around £600 cheaper than the trek 7 with higher spec on the VR. Is the trek a better bike or am I paying for a brand? Also as I am unlikely to do extreme stuff (to old) is there any disadvantage to the long travel? I thought the same I have a motor that should overcome the disadvantage of the long travel.

Good choice. It's not overkill as you will go farther and climb higher. In time, you will appreciate the extra suspension travel and compliance.
