Hi, did anyone already exchange the original DP C241.CAN (controller and display) for the m500 with the DP E160 all in one solution? If so, can you give me some feedback and send me some pictures on the integration on the cockpit?

nothing bad to said. it is working Well. if you need only to see the battery level (at +- 20%), the assit level and the speed, it is perfect

I found it easier to use the assist up/down on the E160 as the whole display is basically a rocker switch. As patdam has said, the display is very barebones, but I've got odometer stats on my cycle computer anyway.

It would be nice to have a proper watt meter like the cycle analyst has though (the C241 isn't a proper one either as far as I know either). Something that links to the cycle computer preferably. Maybe I can make one with a ESP32 or something! I can feel a project idea coming on...

The pity for me is to haven't the battery level in %. Bafang propose display (241) with an bluetooth link with an dedicated appli on smartphone. I'm waiting for an geek who make link between bafang and my GPS to diplaying data on the garmin edge.

Tried to do that with my Garmin but I think Bafang doesn't send out standard data format codes via bluetooth. Spent an afternoon trying but failing sadly as my Garmin couldn't seem to read the data. Would be a great move as there are already a couple of Applets already setup for the display.

It is not so easy, it need that someone competent develop link between garmin and bafang or agreement between the 2 company. cureently as i know, only specialized data can be displayed on garmin (i'm not sure for other brose users ?). before you can use DI2 data to see the batery level of the shimano motors, but it seem that is not possible now with the last firmware upgade

Could you send me some pics of your bars and also of your bike to see how it looks on the bike? I am not sure about the size and would not like to have a unclean cockpit. Thanks man

As promised, although the bike picture isn't the best as I had to take them all inside. I've been moving the charging port up to the front end where the on/off switch is as it kept filling up with water, so had it inside for measuring and fit testing various 3D printed adaptors for it.
Hopefully I'll get it out in the daylight tomorrow. As you can see it stands off the bar (24mm from bar to face of display) quite a lot but is otherwise quite compact (23x46mm display surface).

The metal pin you see at the bottom of the display nearer the bar is the axis of the hinge, so the whole display is a big rocker switch which I find easier to use with my winter gloves. On/off switch is traditional rubber covered switch used in other bafang displays and is a bit vague (although works fine when you're used to it).

Wiring is just about the correct length also, although if I needed to I could pull more cable out of the compartment near the headstock.

In case you're interested, here's my modification of the keyswitch into a charging port, the cover is snapfit lined with closed cell foam for now and I've got some other connectors on the way that might be better, but anything is better than the upwards facing charge connector it came with! I Reused all of the switches internal cabling to extend the charger port and reused the electrical port of the original hardware itself.

Where have you located the ignit switch ? can you share your .stl files of the charging port ? I have broken the rubber cover who perform sealing on my charging port and i have purchase several for spare:
0.72£ 5% de réduction|Connecteur de prise de courant DC femelle, 5.5x2.1mm, 5.5x2.5mm, 5 jeux, étanche, montage sur panneau | AliExpress

May be we can open a subject of 3print modification ? i have also built some .stl and i have find some (DPC240 support)

That's sounds like a good idea, do you think we should start a new thread?

In the mean time, I've added the whole thing to thingiverse (included the stopper I designed to block the hole from whence the charging socket came).

Ok, next year :)

I don't put my files on thingivers because they are not fully correct, functioning but not perfect adjusting. but they could be good base to work for those want to builds same items.
