My translator doesn’t work …but I’ve installed a few of those smart receptacles, switches and sensors around the house. I’m not a fan of power bars for a number of reasons but I understand how they could be useful in some situations.
I can understand the anxiety we might have during charging. I don’t want to burn the place down.I only use this socket because when I charge the battery in the evening before a trip I always fall asleep :-D. And so that the charger is not turned on at night without supervision. Another advantage is that I don't have to get out of bed.:-DDD
Go for a short ride in turbo, or lift the rear off the ground and put a cable-tie round the handlebar switch to engage walk mode (make sure the pedals are clear and it's secure!) - this takes a lot longer than a short ride in turbo. Anything less than 80% would be my aim.Just wondering if there is any way of safely discharging a 100% charged 700wh Specialized M2 battery without taking the bike for a long ride. For the odd occasion when a planned ride is aborted and a lower state of storage charge preferred?
Thanks for your suggestion but I was thinking more of some kind of electronic solution that could discharge the battery independently from the bike ?Go for a short ride in turbo, or lift the rear off the ground and put a cable-tie round the handlebar switch to engage walk mode (make sure the pedals are clear and it's secure!) - this takes a lot longer than a short ride in turbo.
