I think I am mostly jealous because they started with a trail bike instead of what I need :D and honestly I cannot foresee anything from them on another spectrum before ages.

Thanks I am around mostly getting jealous of the bikes arriving lol. Especially that silver frame. That's so nice. I'm somewhat hoping DJI actually do pull a DJI and we see a cheaper model a little down the line.

If they do their usual playbook expect a full range of models and price points from AMFLOW. Again I still find it hard to see DJI working as an OE well in the long term but let's see. From a background perspective iv shared what's important and it's l going to be down to time now and I'll let historly look back on what iv said and see how it turns out.

I amnow interested in the technical aspects more than anything.

Something I will add that people may find interesting is on "de restrciton".
DJI are renowned for leaving methods of getting around regulations on their drones. So as an example RF power limits in Europe and UK are frankly terrible and it massively limits how well the drones can be used with range ect. DJI usually have a "hack" that finds it's way out into the world "usually leaked by DJI to one of its testers, don't ask how I know this 😉" and then someone like me usually makes a video on however to do it. FCC Hacks they are called.

Anyhoo my point is on the bike de restrciton I would expect there to be a fairly simple software way of doing it.
Now the bike is heading to the masses I would bet it won't be long before something turns up on this.

Congrats to the people getting theirs bikes they do look phenomenal.
There's already a few you tube videos showing how to change the speed limiter. Not sure if you can remove it Completely though

It means, that for now as appealing as it could be to some, this bike is useless to me, except for the motor/battery I would really like to have on my new bike.

Second part of the sentence, I do not expect any other bike using the Avinox motor by 2025 - and I need a new bike soon :D

See the conundrum, buying a bike now knowing that next year there will be really, I hope, this time big innovation forced by Avinox.

Man, a Kenevo SL like with 700w, it would be a rage instant buy - unless I just bought one right now. Used market is total f.. Unless I ship the bike no way to sell it that far from mountain.

This is why I was joking and saying that I am jealous of people for whom Amflow could suits their needs.

Don't think this will be for 2025 which is a bit sad, you know it can exist now but it is not there yet on the market

Can always wait for better but we are not talking about few bucks.

I hope this will come pretty soon as 2025 to me is kind of random. It could be for new season, late 2025 or early 2026 who really knows?

But in any case, if it becomes true, I wonder how the market will react. I bet customers might want to wait to get it, especially the ones who already have one in their garage the can wait.

So for the first it cannot be a US company so a German one? What an interesting time!

If you can pick up the base amflow 800 wh battery for $6500 then it's compelling argument to just go with this, ride it for a few years while someone else perfects their models withy this system. Hmmm

Hear you but it does not fit my riding like at all, I do aggressive enduro/dh, and this is just not it. I surely would end up with a bigger travel upfront etc and would finish on breaking it.

Interesting the talk of how flexible the bike is in parts. It's clear they cut things to the minimum to get the weight down.

On a side note more and more videos going up and expect to see more reviews of this bike than probably any other. DJI are pushing hard and creators are benefiting from big jumps in views on the AMFLOW content. Many are getting double or triple their usual views on these bikes. Your probably going to see more videos coming than just review with creators trying to find ways of making more content that keep benefiting from the interest.

It's interesting just how much hype has built around this already, DJI is also advertising this everywhere over social media the last few days. Iv seen 4 or 5 ads today and while FB is clearly tracking my eveymove DJI is pushing the money into the ads to get them seen.

DJI seemly has managed to get the attention of a lot of people not even into bikes. They are somewhat a lifestyle brand now or at least try to be and it showns. I lookfored to the ijustine review 😂.

I don't consider this a downside tbh. I'm not that great at mountain biking, and I don't ride aggressively. I think additional weight for stiffness is probably wasted on riders like me.

Obviously no bike is perfect for every rider/trail/style. It can't be, as there are tradeoffs for everything.

For peoples information Amflow have just started to upload a number of videos on setting up and using the bike on their YouTube channel.

Further to this DJI have also released an update for the Action 5 that allows control via the Avinox controls and display. This is a really nice integration to be honest, one of the nice benefits of it all being a DJI system. TBH they are not widely known for good compatibility between products so this is a nice touch.

Some of these will be handy for new users

This new DJI unit is only 2 miles from where I live. Haven't yet been inside but will in the near future. Wonder if Amflow bikes will be sold/supplied from here ...

Unlikely, what would they know about bike, they would need to hire people and become a lbs dji only. Training is not good nor cheap.

They better off doing what sram does (or any other seller, just franchise), partnership with LBS and certification to be able to operate on their motor.

They already have LBS at Germany sure they will Set them up elsewhere as well.

There are quite a few LBS's signed up as dealers in UK as well.
My local DJI Amflow dealer sent their techs to a DJI organised training day at end of September 24 to learn how to service them.

It is still hard to predict how many LBS will want to be dealer/service support.

From my understanding, if you want to be only a service support LBS it is way harder as you need to follow certification and prove you can do it right up to the level of satisfaction the brand expect it to be. I know some people who are still waiting for just a `spot` in be certified for Sram and Specialized.

I know some dealers of brand X that are not allowed to do any service on the brand X motor/electronic even suspension as they are not certified. Crazy as it is.

What do you mean by Service? Mounting and dismounting the motor from the frame?

Repair/replacement is always done by the producer of the system, not by the dealer .. They send it in ..

This is definitely not what is happening in my country.

For Shimano, Bosch and Sram - don't know the other brand, you can get a certification as an LBS to perform any operation on it: firmware update, service the motor like repair, clean, etc.

Also in most case having a LBS partner with the brand motor allow also primo diagnostic and easy trigger of warranty.

For example a guy I know, which is a semi LBS, only do suspension service (has certifications or is partner of some brands) and motor whatever it is he can do (bearings, washer, internal cleaning, replacing kog etc), like I said, waiting for a slot for the SRAM powertrain certification but he told me that unfortunately, there is no slot before 2025.

I have no doubt that for some operation there might be the motor send to the manufacturer, eg total fault system, double check warranty claim. So far it did not happen to me.

This is one of the drone dealers. In fact this the drone company from Dragons Den when Peter Jones Invested in them. Was the Drone Safe Register back then.

They have grown a fair bit over the last few years and in fact this is the very DJI dealer where £500 went to on Thursday .

I don't see these moving into bikes but you never know what DJI will push.

DJIs usual business model is to sell direct like Amflow is but also push into dealers as well. DJI usually have bunker warehouse in each county but they also do ship a fair amount directly from HK and china and it's surprising how fast that it as times.

For the bikes I'd expect local warehousing to be largely used.


With regards to service DJI does the vast majority of it in-house but they do allow some accredied dealers to do warranty service for them.

If a consumer or enterprise customer contacts them direct DJI will usually handle service them selves picking up the products and shipping it back to you. For UK and EU customers DJIs service center is in the Netherlands. However if you went to one of the accredied dealers/service centres they would handle it for you.

It's not complelty clear how much the dealers can actually do though and I do know there are times where they have had to ship things to dji for service. However they absolutely do some work them selves and it's not just all ship to DJI.

But something that is relivent here and that's where DJI components that are intigraded into other products, they offload the warranty responsibility onto that manufacturer. DJI will not usually warranty that individual component it's self directly with the consumer. This would not affect Amflow but would say Cube and others who could get onboard.

For Amflow I suspect some of the bigger bike dealers will get accredited status for repairs but once it goes out to say other brands (if that does happen) then things will get a little more merky. I'd expect dealers to play a big part in service again tbh.


Something final just to note that may not be relivent here on warranty is worth knowing if you were tempted to import an Amflow bike.

DJI have never offered a global warranty and have always been very particularl on this with regards to county of origin.

DJI know exactly from the SN of the prodict what country of origin it was intended for. So for instance a drone for EU will have it's warranty in the EU. If you went to china and bought one of DJIs drones cheaper or had one shipped from say AliExpress to the UK while they will honour the warranty they will make you ship it back to its county of origin at your own cost. If you buy from an official dealer in your region this is a non issues.

These new industrial and warehouse units (IIRC owned by Chichester District Council) became available in January 2023.
