Hello all

I'm looking to buy a dirtusit as I need something decent as a waterproof option for muddy and wet days.

I'm debating between the Core edition and the Pro/Classic edition

What do you guys recommend between those 3? Could you share your personal opinion on any of those?

Thanks

2nd winter with the classic. Good balance between protection and comfort. Protection good but rain does not, and never did, bead on the fabric. Comfort comes from the breathability of the fabric and the excellent venting options. Care is easy, house and brush after muddy rides and occasional wash with technical fabric cleaner.

This is my second winter using a Pro suit and I luv it .
Got the 18 and 19 version cos I found a bargin and ride 2 or 3 times a wk , so I rotate usage and don't have to put a minging suit back on .
Sizing from 19 on is now accurate . I have a large and it fits me well
14 st , 5ft 9 , 45 chest , 36 waist
If you find an 18 note the size is bonkers.
An 18 XL is identical to a 19/20 L

The material is pretty tough , much more so than the Endura version.
I've had a few minor involuntary lie downs with no damage.

The Core , Pro and Classic are very similar with subtle changes mainly the fabric used.
Core is toughest and slightly more waterproof and breathable.
Then the Pro and the Classic in that order..

There is a new Core version just out in Sapphire blue/orange which is even tougher ,more waterproof and more breathable.

The main difference in the 3 is the Core is the only one that has full leg option (detachable at the knee)
I'd quite like this option but being a short arse , the lower leg is crazy long .
I tried one on and really didn't like the bunching around the ankle.
If your around 6ft or more it's probably ok.
I contacted Dirtlej about a shorter lower leg and it's not available.
I'm not a long leg fan for the bunching up reason . But if it fitted well then I could be pursuaded.
Currently use winter tights , snug fitting gaiters , knee pads , sealskin socks and high ankle winter boots .
Keeps all but the most torrential rain out below the knee .
Rest of the suit has kept me dry though.

Easy to care for . Hose down , hang up in garage to dry .

2 of my mates also have a Pro
1 has a Classic
1 has a SFD

We all luv them. I did a review in Dec 18
If I knew how to post a link I would do so .
If someone would enlighten me I'd be obliged

Thanks for this, really good description and also had a look at your review.

I've tried on the Endura and the Medium fit me well over normal clothes (jeans and hoodie).
The size chart on the dirtlej website says that I'm between Small/Medium. I'm 5.9 and and 12.5 stones. What size would you go for?
I was thinking small, as I don't like wear too bag

I'd probably go medium if the medium Endura fitted you ok
I tried the large Endura and it fitted my upper body ok but was baggier than my large Dirtsuit.
Endura legs were stupid long as well though
Dirtlej is definitely a slimmer fit .

Definitely size down though if you find an 18 bargin .

So I'd recommend -
Medium if 19 or 20
Small if 18

Wouldn't stress too much though , can always return it

Shop around on line , some bargains out there.
Cheaper than their website

I think I'm going for the core edition, the sand/orange colour, that is a 2019 model, correct me if I'm wrong.

Bike-discount has the core editon out for £245, not a bad price.

Sorry got my sizing ups and downs the wrong way around in previous post - now corrected !

Size down if 18 version

Sand / orange is a 19 im pretty sure , so probably a medium would be good

Might be worth a quick email to Dirtlej
They've always got back to me promptly

£245 is good for a Core ?

I will drop an email to them soon.

Luckly the colour scheme sand / orange will match my bike as well..
