Diagnostics problem

Put my haibike into shop it has no power Assit, the shop is saying that it can’t get a connection to my bike so they can’t do a diagnostics test on it, and they’re going to fit a new connector wire to see if that fixes the power problem, anyone know why they can’t get a diagnostics test done on it ? Just noticed on receipt Iv been charged for the diagnostics that failed ?

Have you washed your bike?
What happened before that problem?
