I have been having loads of fun the last four months on my version of "the cheeb" . However, it seems I chose a rather flimsy rear wheel, as can be seen in the attached images.
The exact wheel i bought is: DT Swiss E 1900 Spline 27,5" 30mm CL Rear Wheel | Wheel 27.5" Rear Wheel Shop .
I really dont want to buy another rear wheel that will get destroyed, so do you guys have any advice on what to buy?

Im open to building the wheel myself, as Ive heard its doable with some patience and youtube guides. But I think I would prefer to just buy a complete rear wheel.

Edit: Im 90 kg rider weight. Riding style is enduro/freestyle

Cheers

Are you sure that wasn't a side effect of an excessively flexy rear triangle? I'm wondering if it twisted and snapped the axle first, then the hub collapsed.

I run 1900’s on both my EMTB’s and have found them to be bulletproof, though I have the non ebike versions so the splines do get a bit chewed up but not enough to cause issues. Surprised to see that happen.

I don't know. So the frame is the Dengfu E10. I havent heard about anyone saying the rear triangle is excessively flexy

Hopefully the H1900 can be strong enough then, and I just had a freak loading or a bad hub from the factory.. The splines on my wheels looked pretty good. Less than 1mm indents.

There are definitely better wheels out there, but in terms of bang for your buck they are hard to beat.

the way your hub shell has cracked should be a warranty issue so contact the retailer you bought the wheelset from.
failures of this type can happen to any alu hub body but luckily are not very common.

I too ran a set of E1900s for 2 years on an Ebike (8000+ miles) incl a lot of DH/Enduro riding

Good to know that I should attempt a warranty claim, thanks! Guess I was quite unlucky with my E1900.
I ended up ordering Hope Fortus 30W Pro4.

I've cracked a fair few Hope hub shells, flanges and disc mounts over the years but never a DT Swiss.
hope are good with warranty for the first year or so and spares are available for every part.
as hub shells go Shimano are easily the most durable. pity their freehub durability is so poor.

Lot of good advice hear. My meta stock deity rear wheel was breaking spokes on almost every ride! Ebikes are really hard on rear wheels and drivetrain s. I went with a dt swiss 350 hub and 511 rim. So far so good.

On the deity wheel, Everytime I broke a spoke I replaced it with a 13 Guage spoke made for tandem bikes. Needed to drill the rim hike wider to make it fit but they never broke! The market will start producing better and stronger ebike specific product s in near future as ebikes become more widely used.
