Eagerly waiting for my bike and obviously need to fill the time with specifying the final build. I have a Garmin Edge 1030 which I’ll need to place somewhere and I’m also thinking of getting a Lupine SL SF light. Lupine will be attached on the handlebar from both sides of the stem. I don`t think the Garmin will fit there nicely after that. Has anyone with Garmin 1030 tried one of those ”topcap” attachments eg Adjustable Garmin Stem Mount | K-EDGE (this will not work as they do mention that it requires 70mm and 6deg stem). Any alternatives?

My K-Edge works just fine with a 1030 and lots of space to attach a light.

I've just got a new 830, and found there wasn't any mounts that meet my requirements they either put the computer too far in front or too far in board, meaning I could hit it with my knee.
In the end I just used the rubber band mounts and fixed it over my stem.
It works perfectly.
It's ultra firm out of the way and didn't cost a penny ?

That looks like something I should try. Bit worried about hitting the back end of the Garmin with my knee, that’s why I was thinkng about the one that puts the computer bit more forward.

Do you got the 830 with MTB bundle?

You can take that mount and rotate it 90 degrees...take the plastic inner part out (it's just screwed in) and turn back 90 degrees so you computer mounts facing forward. This put the computer lower, and is protected more from limbs grabbing it because it is even with the handlebars. I thought I would hit it if I had to step off the bike fast or on uneven terrain, but I have never hit is and I think it is in a far better location.

No, the MTB bundle only adds the rubber case and the MTB specific bar mount.
Garmin are giving the rubber case as a promotion for free and the mount puts the computer right over the steerer tube, which would stop me using my SWAT tool on the Levo.
The actual computers are exactly the same with trail forks etc.

Cool, so this would put the garmin to left or right side of the stem?

You could do it on either side...however the Decoy has the Shimano computer on the right side...so that limits you to the left side. HOWEVER...ther are some apps out there where, if you install a Shimano wireless unit, I think...and I HOPE...to be able to remove the Shimano display and only run my Garmin. Now...I have not done any of this, but I believe it can be done. I ordered the Pro Race so I get Di2 and I either update to the 8000 display to get more info, OR I use my Garmin and an additional app to get WAY more info than I can get from 8000 display.

When I get to garage I'll take a pic of my Garmin mount and setup as described above...just thnking about now though. I have a Garmin 5** which may be smaller in length. Of course your stem length and several other factors come into play...I'd try that mount...it's only a few dollars.

Okay I'm also ride with the shimano E8000 but I have installed the 8000 display. With the 7000 display you can connect the Garmin. With the 8000 I cannot. ?

That seems odd you can't do this as well. You can remove the display all together and replace with the EW wireless unit and use either your phone or Garmin as your display.

I’m actually pleased with the cockpit. I was a bit worried about the Garmin placement, but with the long attachment it works nicely with Lupine SL SF light.

I’ll maybe get rid of the E7000 display though as it is useless with Garmin
