A #20 size torx driver is the correct size to take off the speed sensor cap on the chainstay correct? And is there any special tool to remove the magnet from the rear wheel or something basic like an Allen wrench/screw driver? Thanks

My Bosch bike was just a screwdriver. De restricted is the only way . I feel sorry for people to scared to do the same .
It was a #20 torx driver to remove speed sensor cap and standard Phillips head for the magnet. Super easy, took 10 minutes at most. On the right is where the SS was removed from

And all I can say is "this is exactly what I hoped it'd be like" lol. I had to have hit 35-40 at the top end, so much fun ??

The General consensus is that a derestricted Gen 4 will work fine for days / weeks while the motor compares sensor data with GPS data (presumably). Then you are usually in for a nasty surprise at some future date when the algorithm has completed its analysis. Some systems e.g. Speedbox 3.0 can get round this by sending extra pulses when you finish your ride to compensate and keep the algorithm happy. You need to keep your bike switched on for a bit while this happens.

Thanks a lot. Wow! Mine is performance cx but most current firmware. Pretty darn sure no gps involved. I thought it compared pedal cadence to speed and was able to sense they were related. Also read somewhere it completely disables motor, no 3 strikes first. I will probably try bikespeed rs, seems to have most success.

If you eBike has a 4th generation motor (2020 onwards) it is necessary to leave the eBike on after finishing your ride until a value of 0.0 km/h is displayed. This process will take 2-3 minutes, once completed it is safe to turn off your eBike. This step will ensure your eBike does not go into 'limp' mode.

with a dongle installed..
