Damaged Purion - still OK?

Good day,

I had a small off today and the Purion sustained a knock, taking out one of the buttons and slightly moving the other one. It still works OK. My question is, based on the pic, is it still likely to be water resistant and ok for riding in the rain?

Thanks.

I know this is a fairly old post but there is a flexible plastic transparent cover that is available for the Purion display, I know this because I have one for mine, they cost around £20, not cheap but it will make it as near waterproof as you could get it, hopefully this is still of help

Thanks for your answer. I didn't bother doing anything with it in the end and it is working fine. However, the guy in the shop told me yesterday that the way it currently is there is a risk of a short circuit and if that happened it could potentially fry the motor! I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight into how realistic a risk this might be. TIA

I guess if water got in it could short circuit, and break the purion, but I doubt this would break the motor. The motor has a whole load of protection built into it, including short circuit protection (see error code 550 in the manual).

If its working fine now and you dont want to buy a new purion I'd just keep using it without concern.

OK, thanks for your advice. I am certainly no electrician, but I would be surprised if a display unit short would lead to a motor failure.

The purion is a bit goofy and half-broken, but I'm reluctant to spend too much money on one that is likely to just break the next time I fall! I think bosch should develop a better solution to this. The one on the new Spesh turbo levo is the way to go in terms of design.

There are plenty of people swapping their Purions for Kiox etc, hopefully you can get a secondhand one at a decent price.

Edit- just looked on eBay and there are 2 SH units being advertised.
