Curious about other's "mileage"

I rode 20 some odd miles today on my 2019 Levo and came back with 33% battery left. I stayed in Trail mode the entire time. I pushed my rides pretty hard but was a little surprised that at the rate/assist_level I was riding I was going to run out around 30 miles. I'm wondering if this matches others usage ? I know I could go to Eco and increase the range, but I'm to old for that ?. I'm thinking about the bigger battery but ...holy crap... its expensive !

Hard to judge without knowing your weight, how much climbing you're doing and what you have Trail % range set to, but for me at 260lbs (118kg) a ride of 25 miles (41km) with 2400ft (800m) of elevation gain used 85% of a 500wh Levo 19 battery.
i ride mostly in Trail (40/60) with a few bits of Turbo, and the last 10k of that ride was on road, so I'd say a realistic "all offroad" max range for me would be around 28mi/45km, again depending on hills, wind, mud etc as well.

i ride mostly in Trail (40/60) with a few bits of Turbo, and the last 10k of that ride was on road, so I'd say a realistic "all offroad" max range for me would be around 28mi/45km, again depending on hills, wind, mud etc as well.

I'm 160 lbs and the 3 rides I took took today had a LOT less elevation than yours did and my average speed for the first two rides was 18mph. I just looked and have Trail set to 75/100 so thats where a lot of the battery went. . I'm going to reduce that to 50/80 at first and see what happens. I know that there are several factors involved in determining the energy budget, but thanks for providing an example.

80 kgs - today did 21 off road miles with 3000ft of climbing, mainy Eco (25%) with trail for about 20% of the climbs (trail set at 50%) Finished with 2 bars left. Best I've ever done is 32 miles with about 2000ft climbing but 60% of the route was on canal paths.

I'd definitely try cutting back the Trail and putting an upper limit on it - I run Eco at 20-35%, Trail at 40-60% and Turbo at 60-100% - my average speed on a hilly ride would be about 10mph/16kph.

I don't think I'm getting the correct range either, but it's incredibly hard to prove in the real world where there are headwinds, slopppy mud, freezing temperatures etc. Below are details of a couple of rides of mine..

I weigh 98kg in riding kit.
Bike is a 2019 Carbon Comp, running Roval Carbon wheelset, 2.6 Hillbilly front, 2.6 Butcher rear both with Cushcore (weighs less than original wheelset by some margin).

Ride 1 completed in Trail mode, depleted battery
Assistance: 40%
Power: 60%
Distance: 17.48mi
Climbing: 2,605ft
Avg Speed: 8.7mph


Ride 2 completed in eco mode only, left with 5% battery
Assistance: 25%
Power: 25%
Distance: 31.05mi
Climbing: 1,667ft
Avg Speed 10.3mi

Today I rode a ride with a Levo 2019 Comp XL 500Wh in combination with BLEvo Smart heart rate and Smart leg power. My weight is 97kg.

I rode 59,40km, average speed 14,7km/h, total ascent 855m and consumed 85% or 426Wh. Average consumption was 10,46Wh/km.

I used the following BLEvo settings:

Static PP was set at 100% for all three settings.

HR was set at 150BPM +/-3%. Smart power was set at 180W and at the end of the ride to 160W. All three expert settings were set at 50%. Delay increasing assistance Auto Fast and Delay decreasing assistance Auto Soft.

Acceleration was set at 20%.

I rode in Eco for 64,3% of the time or 38,20km. In trail for 35,5% of the time or 21,11km. In turbo for 0,1% of the time or 0,08km.

I am using the BLEvo android version with the BV6000. I rode for 4 hours at 100% screen brightness and was using the maps for navigation. The BV6000 only used 45% of the battery to had 55% left when I returned home. So Like @Rob Hancill mentioned in his BLEvo review "The BV6000 is equiped with a battery which last forever". ;)

Do you have your actual average biker power % and actual HR % please?

My actuals for biker power were much lower than leg power setting which I assume is due to including the downhill power sections.

I think you are right but I also decreased leg power via the new remote on the end of the ride as I became pretty tired...

The average biker power was for Eco 160W, trail 168W and Turbo 154W. Total average 162W.

The average HR rate was for Eco 135BPM, Trail 137BPM and Turbo 153BPM. Total average 136BPM.

Maybe also the cadence is interesting for comparison. I have an average for Eco 68rpm, trail 69rpm and turbo 72rpm. Total average 68rpm.

Do you mean 40/60 as in....40% assistance and 60% peak power?

weight makes a huge diffrence to mileage, my buddy on the exact same levo, gets about 15% more milege easily cos he is about 20kg lighter

I'm 103 kg not including water co2 etc, I done 72 kms (44) miles with 15% battery left, the whole time in economy, 25/60, mostly on the flat following a river.

If I remember correctly had 20% assistance and pp also set at minimum. btw. If I remember correctly "acceleration" setting had a surprisingly big impact on range.

You probably could, if you stay off the steep ascends and keep it at 20%. But there is great fun in raging through a big ascend in turbo ;) (hence the big battery)

Hi Ross, have you read the BLEvo manual? If so, which section didn't you understand? Maybe I can help you but I can't explain in detail how BLEvo works in a few sentences. Regarding smart HR and smart power, for a 5 year old, I would recommend to start with the beginners setting. ;)

If you can tell which part you don't understand than I am more then willing to help you but maybe it's better like you said already to change this discussion to the BLEvo topic.
