Confirmed that old hardware from the stock Rockshox Deluxe Select+ can be used to mount a Fox shock to the Rail 5

Just installed a Fox Float X2 on my Trek Rail 5. Got differing information as to whether or not I would need entirely different hardware to mount a different shock or if I could use the stock mounting hardware.

Have confirmed it can be used.

Interested in this. Being no expert on shocks, how does this compare to the Rockshox 'Reactiv' shocks trek use. I may do this and a Float 36/38 upgrade on the front end..

I can't compare to the Reactiv shocks. I did this upgrade on my Trek Rail 5 which comes with a Rockshox Deluxe Select+ and not the Reactivated shock.

For my riding I needed low speed compression adjustment which the Rockshox did not have and more range of adjustment for high speed rebound. The X2 has a more high speed rebound adjustment range than the Rockshox.

I still have more dialing in to do but the X2 is more in tune with my riding more than I could get the Rockshox.

Anyone know if a Cane Creek Kitsuma would fit? Same profile as X2, but I think the main body is larger? If so then it would definitely hit the frame, although I wonder the difference on size XL frame?
