Commencal META POWER 29 ESSENTIAL FOX vs Specialized Turbo Levo Comp

I am struggling with purchasing a specialized Turbo Levo Comp (locally) or a Commencal Meta Power 29 essential fox. While the commencal is not as sexy as the new Levo (internal battery, tons of reviews, award). I can get the commencal with better specs and 2 batteries for less than the specialized. This would be my first eMTB and so not having local dealer support is a concern. Has anyone ridden both these bikes and have an opinion? How has your after purchase support been on your commencal? I am located in the US and the only other local bike shop with ebikes is a trek dealer. Thank you for your help.

Pick the bike with the best frame, battery and motor. Everything else can be changed relatively easy to suit your needs.

Horses for courses, only you know what will work best for your riding style and trail type.

I don’t think there is a better bike out of the two to be honest. There is no doubt the Meta is burlier and better value but the Levo has a cleaner design.

I just pulled the trigger on the Meta Signature because I beleave it to be slightly more suited to chunky downhill and jumping. I have the budget to go Decoy or Levo Carbon but there was something about the Commencal that just floated my boat. I’m also keen on an alloy frame (not a dealbreaker) with the best possible components, and I don’t mind the external battery ?

Also look at the Fezzari Wire Peak Elite for just a little less money but with an internal battery and the same motor as the commencal.

The wire peak looks like a great bike. The geometry looks like it would be a lively bike. Does anyone know about their bike quality?

I don’t have an answer to your question about the Commencial or Fezzari, but if I didn’t order the Specialized I was going to get the Trek. But now it would have been the YT over the Trek.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. The value of the Commencal is great. I don't mind the external battery at all and prefer alloy over carbon anyday. The Fezzari intrigued me but I'm worried that it's their first emtb and the are almost zero indie reviews of it. However my thinking is that for a first emtb it might be good to have a dealer backup. For a second one direct consumer would definitely be the way to go. Spesh for me as soon as i scrape up the $ somewhere.

I think buying with a view to support locally is very wise. On the other hand it has to be the right bike for you that you enjoy riding. Test ride all the contenders.

No point having a nice bike with the right spec and price and a local dealer but you don't enjoy riding the thing!
