Sorry for the slow come back was away last week.
Ok as it seems to be just stiction on the head wiper/seal and it still failed to top out again in the latter part of the last ride which was very wet mucky conditions, I was even running a mudhugger rear guard (look crap but they work) on the swing arm to keep the spray down to minimum...
I've now upped the pressure to 90psi, now my gonads are going to take a hit if I get the timing wrong! And to keep some of you happy I'm going to try different lube on the stanchion as well! (it wont make FA difference though!) :p

Keep you posted!:)(y)

Update:

Spoke to a friend at Specialized UK and after talking to him about my issue he has confirmed they’re aware of this and that a new internal part is already being produced for the 34.9 Command Post. The video of this and how to fit has already been uploaded for the dealers to view and the parts should be ready by January...

Don’t know anything more than that at present.

The simple way to solve this is to chuck the post in the bin and get a decent one! ?
I'm interested on anyone's thoughts about the Yoke Revive dropper post on a 2018 Levo. Would this be a suitable dropper post compared to the specialised standard dropper post?

Well I'm pretty much done with this new 34.9mm Command Post, it really is now become the bane of my life when out riding. Bike went back to Berkshire Cycles last Friday for the motorcycle foam Specialized are supplying to fill the hole in the frame and to look at the seatpost yet again, they put yet another new cable on it and set it up. Rode it the next day and the lever started getting really hard to push, as if it was catching on something and then it lost pressure from the 90psi that it needs to be run at to work properly, which meant it wouldn't top out when depressing the lever. When I got home I attached my gauge to find it down at 25psi!
These new 34.9 Command Posts are shocking! I have 3x 30.9 Command posts on other bikes and have never had an issue with any of them.
Not sure what this modified part they're bringing out for this 34.9 model is but they need to do something...
Chris at Berkshire Cycles, as always has been great but it's difficult to fix something that would seem to be badly engineered in the first place!
He's speaking to Specialized to see what can be done.

Is anyone else running this later 34.9 command post, it only comes on the Expert and S-Works models. Any issues ???

The Kenevo uses that size, too. Riding it one season now and yet had no issues with it getting stuck or loosing pressure. Once i reduced the pressure a bit by myself, cause i didn't like how the dropper smashed my balls... but then it didn't top out anymore, so i went back to original pressure and learned to avoid the ball-smashes.
Once this dropper starts to cause trouble, i will replace it.

Yes but the Kenevo Expert has the WU which will have different internals and the Comp uses the X-fusion Manic. Well certainly the 2019 are listed with those not sure what the 2018 were using ??

I have one and it hasn't messed up yet. It works. I tried using less pressure so it doesn't return so fast but that didn't work so i settled at 70 psi. It works but i don't particularly like it. I have had pneumatic posts in the past that are infinitely adjustable and way way smoother without the ratcheting.

I do have one on my expert and do not like it much, I did lower the pressure a little bit so that the return is not too violent (did the same with the 30.9 without issue). The problems that I am experiencing are:
1 Many times it is difficult to make it move from the top position even when fully depressing the lever, it seems it needs to be pushed down at exactly the direction of the shaft.
2 The ratchet does not lock positively, it needs to go up a tiny bit to lock, otherwise it will randomly go to the full down position the next time you sit.

In a few words, you can not fully trust it will work as it is supposed to and you need to pay attention when riding.

Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Why wasn't this discovered during testing?
Or is this a consequence of poor quality control during manufacture?

As with a few issues on the 2019 Levo, it would seem to me that they rushed this bike out to the market place and we the customers are the guinea pigs!

New post now fitted, working well so far but you can still feel it click and it lock when you apply a small amount of pressure to the seat after it’s returned to full height.
I think and hope this is what the new modified internal part they’re about to release may well address.
Can anyone at Specialized please confirm this ???

i had 2 replacement CP on my levo under warranty and i gave up. replaced with a tried and tested Rockshox Reverb and all my problems went away. No more creaks, no more rattles, no more smashed balls

have put in another 100km on the new Reverb, bike still silent...its awesome now. Took about 6 months to sort out all the small niggles with my 2018 Levo...but im loving it now.

im sure there are thousands of CP out there that are working fine, but it doesnt change the fact that the CP def fails very often. I had a Stumpjumper before the levo, with a gen 1 CP.....yup you guessed it...failed within 1 year.

I have owned reverbs and KS as well, and neither failed before i sold off the bikes along with the droppers

Google reverb failure. They have to be the most failed dropper ever

Not for my group of 6 riders, all on reverb, no failures since we started using them bout 4-5 years ago

vs CP, 4 failures in a period of 5-6 years, same group of 6 riders.

Everyone has diffrent experiences, but for my group, the CP has dogshite rep.
