Cheap front splash guard to stop crud collecting on the main pivot. I had to cut away a groove so as not to foul the chain.

Nice work on the stand. Another good idea I saw is a shaped piece of wood to go into the chain ring, so when you pedal backwards the crank catches it and spins the chain backwards for oiling.
I had a spare Mudhugger front guard which fits on the seat stays and keeps both sets of pivots clean on also gives a bit of rear coverage.

My LBS has offered to shorten the cables for me at the first service, once everything has bedded in. Mind you, I don’t expect them to stretch that much initially!
That’s good to hear......my LBS wanted to charge for that service, the cable ties and tube will do for now. ?

Personally I think tons of zipties and spacers between your hoses and cables looks pretty horrendous. but if you're going to ziptie pipe lagging to your bars I don't suppose that matters to you too much.

This guy also paid just £6 for this neat look...

Seriously though. Cockpit rattle with sensibly shortened hoses/cables is so minimal it has only ever bothered me in the audio on GoPro footage. Never in real life. But cable rattle inside or at the rear of a bike is often amplified by the frame and can become distracting while riding as it sounds like there's something loose on your bike. Luckily most bike manufacturers have finally figured this out and sorted it.

If you're looking for a really clean look while quietening down the rattle at the front. Shrink wrapping the cables and hoses together looks way neater but you'll also have to cut cables and hoses to be a good length to tie together neatly. Also be careful not go too short or the shrink wrap may need removed to perform brake bleeds. It's not expensiive either but time consuming to fit

I'd use a heatgun though rather than a crème brûlée torch ?

Oh... and don't do this if you X-up or spin your bars in the air.

Yeah that’s another option, maybe once I get my cables shortened. It’s far too much messing about for me though, so are you offering to do it, Gary? :)

If you're offering to pay for my time, materials and two way shipping of your bike. Yes. No problem.
