In case you missed it there is a ($25 to $42) Factory Debonair C1 upgrade of your 2020 RockShox's Lyrik, Yari, Pike, and Revelation to 2021 Spec.

So this is something for your 2020 Rails with this shock.

This improves the 2020 shock, where it sags under its own weight for the first 10% of the shock travel. You probably noticed it when you looked at the intervals marked on your shock, and its there regardless of the pressure you put into the shock. With this upgrade you will have the full 150/160mm travel.

Its a cheap upgrade that apparently makes noticeable improvement. I have just ordered mine. Check out this video for a real review.....


If you want to rebuild your 2020 Debonair the kit costs $25 USD. For the complete Debonair C1 its only $42.

MPN: 00.4020.573.000 - RockShox - Seal Head - Air Springs & Parts (This is the $25 kit that upgrades all of your existing 2020 Debonair system. But you have to change over parts.

Please double check these part numbers before you order. But this is what I have found!!!

You can install it when you do a lower fork service.

Finally you might have to adjust your PSI down by 5-10%

Yes, very much worth it and pretty easy to do. I dropped my pressure ~7-8%.

Can this be done for a rockshox 35 gold 140mm? It came on a merida 2020 model e140. I'm not sure I understood the video - I assume it's different to just adding a token or two?

YES! When I first got my bike I was getting frustrated at the 5-10% sag while the bike was sitting idle.

It currently 'set up' for 150mm travel, can I upgrade to 160 or 170 without issue or are there limitations?

You can upgrade!

You can change from say 150 to 160 by buying the complete 160 c1 airspring instead of the 2/3 part upgrade kit. Be aware you may be limited by your bike warranty in terms of how much additional travel you can go to.

Did mine in the weekend & first ride today. Felt funny initially as I washed out of a couple of uphill corners, that lil bit extra height makes it feel like a chopper. By the end of the ride though it felt more normal.
I'm trying to get the smoothest plushest feeling at the start of the stroke to cancel out trail chatter so put in the min amount of air suggested. It was running at around 30% sag. I run a Yari with 1 token & weigh around 85-86kgs & I think was running 75PSI.
I went over the bars on a steep drop corner which I never really have any problems with & when I checked my forks I found use up a lot of travel simply on the gradient with weight over them.
So silly noob question but is this just not enough air or is this like brake dive & would adding a token be better?
Am I getting the best smoothest ride by keeping the air low? I'm not upgrading the forks anymore than what I've already done but may go cushcore at the front to run silly front pressures.

I am not happy with the new Debonair in my Lyrik Ultimate. It is not nearly as smooth/plush at the top and I think it is going through the middle way to easy. 86 kg RTR, 2 tokens and been trying pressures between 77-90 psi. Will start trying different tokens now but wonder if it will really solve it.

I think sag at 30% on a fork is too high. I use 25%. You should also check shock and fork feel similar. Check also you are not using too much rebound which may mean the fork travel is stacking...ie not returning fast enough after compressing to be able to take the next hit.
