I have recently bought a Cube Reaction Hybrid SL 2021 and I want to change it's Sram X-Sync 2 Eagle 38T chainring (see image) with a smaller one 36/34T because I'm fat and I live in the mountains and I don't want to strain the motor/transmission when going uphill.
The problem is that I do not know if this is a boost or a non-boost chainring so I don't know what to buy.
Can you help me identify it? Thx!

L.E.: What tool do I need to mount/dismount this?

Don’t know the answer but with the stock gearing the lowest gear is really low. Would a smaller chainring really make much difference?

The answer is that it comes with BOOST chainring, you can can identify it by looking on the backside, it has "BOOST" engraved to it.
From my experience I can say it does, I have bought a 34T chainring, 4 teeth make a huge difference, I also have a Scott Ransom eRide that has the same 29+ wheels, same engine, same transmission and the 34T chainring on it doesn't seem "really low" on steep climbs.
