Hi all,

hopefully one of you clever people will know what to do here. I snapped my chain recently on a ride and replaced cassette, chainring and chain with a new shiny SRAM Eagle XX1 12 spead rainbow chain (hollow pins), I counted the links so it matched up but it ended up being slack in top gear so I broke the chain at the power lock took 4 links out (daft i know) and then fitted.....too short. Now I need to put links back which is a headache as I'll just have a single link between 2 power locks and having turned the cranks a few times it wiggles on front chain ring so does not run smooth. I need to know what the ideal length of the chain should be but can't find out and also is there a way of adding links back without a power lock? Or have I just wasted a chain.......!!!
Thx

yes you have ruined the chain but the good news is that you can now buya chain more suited to an EMTB at less cost....e.g. GX or X01
