Hi. I rode Cannock last Sunday & there was quiet a lot of diversions in place due to forestry work & trail repairs. One diversion was like riding through slop up hill but still rideable. We also rode at stile cop which was great considering the weather we’ve been having.

All the below shut...
Twist and Shout
Uncle author
Devils staircase
Big detour at original monkey (as mentioned above slop fireroad) which pretty much takes you to 5 ways.
Kit bag climb
Zig Zak
Aunt flow
Bomb hole.

Off piste is a riot and this rain again ain't helping.

For those mid way between Cannock and Sherwood Pines, Pines is a reasonable alternative at this time of year. Sherwood Pines is now pretty much an all-weather destination now. But Pines has the forest clearers in until April and currently all of "The Trenches" area is unavailable and much around it. In addition the clearance work has affected the red trail. The red trail now stops at the bottom of Tornado Alley and then continues on the blue. This is a big diversion.

But the weather has left the trails largely unaffected. If you know the off-piste stuff and can navigate around the diversions, then Pines is still a good place to go. :)
