Really wanting a new bike and was looking at the Orbea Rise but I'm now veering towards another full fat as I don't have time to keep fitness levels up. I can get my hands on a trek rail but are botch bringing a new motor out this year and possibly a bigger battery??? I do like long rides 30+ or will the current rail be fine?? I do weigh 100kg kitted up at my worse :( my current bike is a merida e120 900e, nice bike and good kit but I just want something a bit more capable and of course shiney! :D

Or go lighter as per your initial thought (Rise M10/20) and get the extender battery. That should more than cover 30 miles...

Just thought it may be run in boost too much for those after work blasts, wish I could get a go on one as the lighter weight is appealing.

You know, longer forks and a new shock make that an e160. You could sink a bit more into fancy lighter wheels, and perhaps grab a spare battery?

Not sexy enough? Invest the money saved into a couple of escorts to wash the bike after each ride?

The last thing we need is another name on the orbea rise waiting lust.

Brexit ? o_O :p :ROFLMAO:

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I imagine Aus as unaffected by all the other global issues .... how the mind is twisted !

Well, we know your mind is twisted!

I could imagine a tired orbea employee , tied to some desk at orbea hq, An m10 rolls off the factory floor and he calls out to the coworkers " Australia?" . From a covid safe distance the mask muffled reply sings out " farkem!"

Truth is, we're a tiny segment of the global market and orbea is a tiny segment of our market. I didn't even realise there was an orbea dealer 100 km away until I started researching the rise. They had 3 on irder, only 1 has arrived so far. I can't imagine Australia gets many container loads of bikes from orbea

Buying a new bike is just like waiting to buy a new bike.....

Just spent $13K on the Levo Turbo Pro, best ebike of the seven I've owned....however the motor is (intermittently) not shutting off when I stop pedaling for about 3 to 5 seconds. This is a familiar Gremlin with Turbo Levo. I'll report back after I speak with Rider Care, whom I anticipating will tell me to take to the dealer, "oh thanks, why didn't I think of that?"

Fantastic riding bike, significant improvement. "Two steps forward....."

Warm Regards

Have the 2020 Rail 9.8 fantastic bike especially when going fast. I've been riding the 2022 Turbo Levo Pro for three weeks, best riding bike I've ever owned, but why? I think's it's two reasons.
1. Fox 38 and X2 and 2. Adjustable geometry. I've got the head cup set to it's steepest position, and the rear triangle on high for extra ground clearance. The bike rides really well going slow picking through a technical morass, steep head angle (I think). Now back to your Rail. I'ved removed all volume spacers from the shock and fork and mucked around with hi/low compression and rebound, the feel is as close to Fox as I have gotten it (more experimenting required), the Rail fork is more slack than the Levo, not sure you can get eccentric head cups for the Trek frame or Rockshox fork. The Brose has alway been the best motor, (you know the motors that are as dependable and candle in a wind storm) but the torque and application of power are really great between Shimano and Bosch I like the Brose best. The Bosch seems to be very (more) dependable that Brose, let's if the updated drive belt and software on the Brose make the difference. I'll repeat myself, all high end ebikes ride really well, I love the Rail, but I love my Orbea too, your gonna love your new Rail it was Loam Wolf's choice last year.

Warm Regards

The motor is brilliant, i like the way power is delivered. Defo prefer the Bosch over Shimano. Never had a go with a brose motor, i was tempted but reliability was an issue for me. Overall very happy with my purchase, i would of loved to of tried an Orbea rise but i do think i would of missed the extra power.
