I've been running a 36T Praxis 104BCD ring on my Levo, just wondering if anyone has fitted a 36T ring to their Bullit and if the Praxis 104BCD is a straight bolt on swap?

There is one thing to remember which I recall as I did the same upgrade to my Levo. I now have a Bullit and a spare Praxis ring but haven’t tried putting it on. Here’s why which explains why you may need to buy 4 new bolts…

As you’ll know, on the Levo your crank’s spider’s bolts are retained directly by the Praxis chain ring. But I don’t see that as a problem as you already have the bolts you need if you still have the Levo. The bolts will need to be donated from the Levo or you’ll need to acquire 4. My Levo’s gone and so, not having the correct bolts, I haven’t fitted the bigger Praxis ring to my Bullit, but will be doing that having read your question.

For those that don’t know, this particular Praxis chain ring has threaded spider bolt retaining holes — these bolts don’t use ‘nuts’ to retain the bolts (whatever the correct name is for those…). In other words, the 4 bolts are retained directly into the ring through the spider.

Hey Cool

Thanks for the input, chain ring bolts noted.

Ive now ridden my bullit and i see that the EP8 Motors character is very different from my Levo Brose Motor. The EP8 seems to respond / needs high cadence to generate decent torque assistance, The Levo seems happy to dollop out great chunks of torque with little regard to cadence. Im now of the view that I'll keep the 34T chainring as it helps with higher cadence. I have swapped out the 10-52T cassette for a 10-50 though. I used a 11 -46 on the Levo with the 36 Chainring, thats how much difference im perceiving between the two different torque deliveries of the motors.

Agreed about the EP8 on the Bullit. Definitely needs a higher cadence to get the full support. There’s another side to that coin though. If you use a lower cadence and more muscle power, you’ll be using less battery. So with the EP8, if you need that bit extra, up the cadence for those moments and remember to slow that down a bit (I generally change gear) for the rest of the time by relying on fitness — this approach has increased my fitness moving from the Levo to the Lavendar wonder ?

Bullit definitely gives more of a work out by default than the Levo ! I still ride my Nomad to keep fit and tend to use Ebike on my rest days to do laps. Looks like I’ll be spinning on the Bullit. ?
