Build date of updated bikes?

I’m going to pick up my first ebike tomorrow. Specialized Comp. I read that Specialized updated a few parts to prevent dirt and crap getting into motor and another running update. When did these updates start getting incorporated? After what build date am I in good shape?

Not certain, but if you look at the swingarm pivot area and see a rubber dohickey you have one of them. If you see a big gap you don't.
Most shops would have fitted the updates from what I have observed and heard from others in various countries.

Ask the dealer to do it for you if it's not been done, it's very simple.

We looked at all TL’s in 3 LBS and only saw 2 complete updates, which we purchased. One med taupe comp and a small green base model. March and April production. January and before were not. The sponge to product from debris entering the outer motor case were installed on all we checked ( just poked a key under the pivot arm), even without the 4 bolt case. The techs gave blank stares when asked about the updates so hard to tell if they were aware of the changes and didn’t want to admit some were still incomplete. We ran around and looked for the 4th bolt cover and the obvious plastic clip on the pivot arm closing the gap. Figuring some production batches were shipped before changes, certain sizes and colors were not. They are simple adds, I gave them the known part numbers but were more interested in finding complete bikes. Look quickly, since some models are done production and not available to ship. Worth the search, awesome rides!
