Hi,
Hope somebody can help me.
My remote on my 2018 carbon Levo is broken and I want to connect the new remote (left over from a DIY Creo project) to the original cable.
New remote has 6 wires, original 5.
Tried already a few combinations, but nothing seems to work.
Does anybody know if this would work by connecting the correct wires?

The alternative would be to order the new version of the cable, but if I want to run it through the frame I would need to cut and solder anyway!

Thanks for your help.

I tried that once. It will not work. The new remote is totally different. The only option is the wireless remote made by Garmin. Unfortunately, you'll lose the walk mode. I ended up selling my 18 carbon because I need the walk mode in the winter for ice biking.

My wire got snagged by a tree branch and ripped the wire out of the switch so there was no way to reattach it. I wasted money buying a newer switch and trying to solder it in.

I'm happy you made it work. I ohmed the wires on the new switch and they didn't have the same readings. The switch is a smart device.

Sorry, I didn't see you were showing something different. I was just commenting that the switch that I bought was not directly compatible by just soldering the wires together.

I only saw the first post. Anyway, how do you run those wires without drilling a bigger hole through the carbon frame?

Specialized has sold a replacement switch (without a converter). I used it to add the switch to my MY2016, which did not come with a switch.

I ran the wire between the battery and the frame, but could have cut and spliced the wires. I did not want any water intrusion.

The 16' is not the same as the carbon 18'. I exhausted all possibilities of fixing that switch before I sold mine. Other switches available would not plug into the motor or I would have done just what you suggested by running the wire along side the battery and into the frame. There was a guy that posted a video years ago on how to mod the early models for a remote, but it doesn't work for the 18'.
