I have just had Shimano not honour a warranty on a e7000 motor as I am the second owner of the bike (Norco SIght VLT A2 29er) . While I have to cop that I am wanting to put pressure on Shimano to provide a workable solution to the issue which seems to be very common. If you are in the same situation, please write to Shimano and plead your case and make contact with the consumer watch dog in your region.
In the meantime I see one member (Felpro from Sydney) has posted a solution which I will try. I would appreciate a bit more information about the repair however.
I have attached a copy of the broken part. Very disappointing Shimano. My motor was 18mths old.
