Bright light.....

Hi.... with the darker evenings rolling in, I’m after decent lights... I’m after a front light I can use in woods and trails near me. Bright as poss... max £250... brighter the better.

What you all using or recommend?

I’m using a moon meteor pro, on the bars and a joystick on the lid. But I broke the meteor so I’m also looking for recommendations.

I’ve done a lot of looking at bike lights, the better ones are basically torches with clamps. But if you look at a torch and buy a clamp it’s a lot cheaper.... anyone done this?

I've got the older version of this

It's good quality and the battery lasts a long time on lower modes. There are brighter ones available though, there's a British company called Exposure but they are quite expensive.

I just looked on the Exposure website and they do mtb specific ones that automatically adjust output depending on riding conditions...

You’ll be paying over £400 for that light. But it depends on wha5 you’re using it for, some of the exposure lights only apply max lighting when it thinks you’re doing downhill, they have accelerometers built in. Very cool.

If you're riding on the road,the bike specific ones would be better if you don't want to dazzle on coming traffic, as they have special lenses to diffuse the light.

I don’t really ride on the road but road riding I would just use a cheap light to be seen by others... it’s for the dark trails in the woods I’m after

It could be strapped to your helmet, probably not very safe though

I've got an Acebeam X45 ii, I wonder if I could attach that to my handlebars...

2000 Lumin for £13.... are they really? Not bad.....

I doubt the claims are accurate but they are pretty bright. Not Exposure Six Pack bright, but still pretty good and for the price, disposable.
