Brake upgrade for Tubo Levo?

My bike has SRAM Code R brakes. They work just fine as far as stopping power for where/how I ride, but I definitely get hand fatigue when I'm on the brakes a lot.

Can I upgrade just the levers to get a lighter pull, or would I need to upgrade the whole system? Any advice to solve this issue?

Code r’s get a lot of criticism but I found the weak point with the standard set up to be the rotors. Changed mine to Hope 220 front and rear and it transformed the brakes. More stopping power with a lighter pull needed on the levers.

Yes you can, I upgraded to code ultimate levers. Worth every penny.
