What brake pads do you use?
What stopping power results and what mileage are you getting?

I had my OEM brake pads replaced after 800km and new set last just over 200km. The LBS told me they fitted a better quality pads. I am not convinced.

The last 200km were in worse conditions, but 4x the distance is a massive (km) difference. next time I will buy the pads myself, change it and measure the results.

Always bought shimano resin pads and they seem to last a long time and I’ve never heard a squeak out of them.

Just as an experiment I’ve ordered some cheap as chips Clarks pads and will compare

Because they're made from aluminium that will be damaged (worn) by the bits of metal in sintered pads. Other rotors can made from stainless steel.

Is that due to cost, so a lesser bike has alu discs, and a higher level one S/S?
So the big boys run sintered pads, and S/S discs, and this is an upgrade.
