Well here's a new one: charged the Missus' 500Wh battery up to 100% for her first time out on the bike in 3 months. I'd got around 30% in my 625Wh battery, so reckoned I'd have enough for escort duties for this morning. On the first hill I realised that I'd put her battery in my bike. No good leaving her with my battery because it would be flattened before we got home (all uphill, of course). So I quickly switched batteries.

What I'd forgotten to check was that the motor on wife's bike had been turned off. I switched batteries. Her bike powered up with the 500Wh battery. Mine didn't

A quick trip home to stick the battery on charge for a few minutes and reset the battery manager. It then powered up.

Given that we're going to regularly have to change batteries (her power consumption is about double mine), this has given food for thought. Okay just a couple of kilometres from home which I could easily pedal. But had we been out in the sticks on one of our epic rides, the pain doesn't even bear thinking about.

Bosch really do need to give guidance on their battery management system and publish how to reset the systems when it refuses to power up.

I took delivery of a Cube Reaction Hybrid Ex yesterday, and the battery (Bosh Powertube 625) has gone dead after its second charge. I'm aware that you need to disconnect the battery from the charger before turning off the charger, and I have been careful to do this. There is no indication of power either on the bike or when connected to the charger. I'm waiting for either the bike shop or Bosch to respond. I've seen several posts on this issue - it's beginning to look like a design fault or a bad batch.

Bad batch as happened to me with my cube stereo after one 18 mile ride then next day no power from battery.
Had to send complete bike and charger to Plymouth (I am in south wales)
Got it back now and have completed another 3 lenthy rides with no probs but I am very nervous and watch the display avidly.
