I now have 2 Bosch Smart System bikes and found out that I cannot simply add the 2nd bike to my existing Flow app on my mobile which is set up for the first bike. Bit of a bummer, but fortunately I have an old mobile that is still functional so I have set up a new Flow app. for the 2nd bike. It all works fine but at the moment using the same Bosch account and email address but I have no sim card for the 2nd mobile it is just connected to the internet via my home wifi. I will need to use the 2nd bike and its flow app. on a mobile network and my service provider offers a multi-device sim which I could use but it will have the same mobile number as the first, does anyone know if this will work or has tried it?
I did raise this question with the Bosch help line but I think they got the wrong end of the stick or did not understand how a multi device sim works and suggested I set up 2 copies of the flow up with 2 accounts with different email adresses on one mobile phone then logging in and out as each bike is is required but of course that assumes both bikes will not be in use at the same time, which will be the case!

I do not know anything a bout a multi device SIM but if it has the same ID as your other SIM then no it will not work.

I dont understand why you need the Flow App other than to set up the bike as you want............or if you change any part of the CAN system...which would be done at home so with Wifi cover. On both of my bikes I used Flow once when the bikes were new to set up the motor tune etc. Never run flow since ( I bike is 3 years old!!). If you want a record of your rides use a professional app like Strava.

Well if you always know where you are going I guess you would never want to use the navigation facility in the Flow app.

When I need navigation I use Trailforks to find routes and download the file to Komoot. No need to use Flow.. I usually just listen to the audio using Bluetooth buds and only look at the route on the phone if it says I have left the tour.

Try it and you will soon find out
Well as a long time user of Komoot I have to confess I have rarely used the actual Flow app navigation. I do however have Kommot as a connected service in the Flow app and use that for pre planned routes, which seems to work well and gives me the enhanced smart phone display and finger tip access to the other Flow app features. I do have a sneaky feeling that the stand alone Kommot navigation is superior particularly in respect to round trips or routes where the there and back path intersect. I have not felt the need to check that lately (a good sign) and it may well be based on the Flow apps predecessor the Cobi Bike app. and a lot has changed since then.
Anyway, regardless of the pros and cons, I do want to get each bike set up on different mobile phone and will try out a multi device sim and if that fails I'll go for a pay as you go sim. I'll update this thread with the results, thanks everone for your comments.:)

I have struggled with the same problem and I'm not interested in being told why I don't need the Flow app. I use it of course to update the software, but I've also replaced the Eco mode with Auto. If the charge level is getting low on a long trip I might need to get Eco mode back during the trip. Having the ability to customize the different modes is also nice.

I have two phones so I just need to bring the correct phone. Both Samsung phones have a job account and are using twin SIMs. If the phone didn't have the job account I assume it would have been possible to have two instances of the Flow app installed. One in the Personal domain and one in the Knox protected Work domain. The problem is that I can only install company approved apps in the Work domain. Maybe I will delete the work account for the older phone and see if can have two instances of Flow installed.

Sure would be nice to be able to stay logged in and select which bike or both to connect too. Bluetooth can pair with two at a time so there no reason why this couldn’t work.

That is good news thank you! Really weird the Flow app does not have a multi-bike feature yet, particularly as it was included with the Cobi Bike app!

That is odd, but I bet they make it happen. With Bosch becoming so popular, I have 4 bikes with Bosch, they have to address this to keep us consumers, consuming! Please @bosch

Actually, I just found out, that Samsung phones with a single sim card installed only allow a single user (Google it if you don't believe me, I was gobsmackedo_O) so it is not possible to install more that one instance of the Flow app.

As a slight hack, can’t you just unpair bike 1 and pair bike 2 to do whatever you need, & vice versa? Like others have said Flow isn’t even top 3 for activity tracking, and you’ll seldomly need Flow for settings or firmware upgrades, so the pairing / unpairing should be worth the hassle.

No that is not how it works, you actually have to change the registration in the Flow app from the first bike to the second as well as unpairing it before you can connect to second bike. As a result any data specific to the first bike will be lost. If your mobile phone allows more than one account (Samsungs don't) it would be possible to have 2 instances of the Flow app under the different accounts and different email adresses in which case a logout/login/unpair/pair would be possible and bike specific data would be retained but it is still very messy:eek:.

I have dual SIM cards in one of my phones, still not able to install two instances of Flow in the Work domain. Only possible option would possibly be the Knox proticted Work domain.

Flow is a must if you want power, cadence, distance, time elapsed & speed readouts all on one screen... The most important data to anyone who cycles. Who has time for half a dozen different apps that do little bits and pieces. Ridiculous!

For "simplicities" sake (sim-ple and easy to get hold of) , I went for a pay as you go sim card and number. Little did I know that before you can use one of these here in Germany you have to register the number. No idea how it is in the rest of the world but the registration process here is a royal pita, none of the autometed systems worked with my phone and I ended up having an online interview, with a real person, took 2 days to get it arranged and even then they could not accept my ID card so we ended up having to take photos on my passport to proove who I was.
The bottom line is that it is working fine and I will dump it if and when Bosch update the Flow app to allow it to handle more than one bike.:)

Worth translating:
Bosch is releasing a new app update for the Riva Bike Show that allows multiple bikes to be parked in the app...finally 👌 I get annoyed every time I have to remove one bike to use the other in the app...that's Stone Age 😡
Specialized has been making this possible with their app for years.
