Bosch CX V4 bolt pattern for ISCG05 Chain Guide

Hey all, 1st post !

Does anyone know what the bolt pattern is on the Bosch CX motor ?

Has anyone successfully fitted an E13 LG1 bash/chainguide to a Bosch motor ?

My bike is an Ibis Oso and it already utilises 2 of the bolt holes for the top guide but I would like a guide with the bottom guide wheel to reduce chain movement and in turn quieten the infamous Bosch chainring rattle.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry can't help with the chain guide as I threw my top mounted one away ages ago, but I'm interested in knowing if it stops the engine noise when freewheeling over rough terrain . I always thought it was the internal gears backlash and the clutch disengaged them when not under load. The only way I managed to quieten mine is to slowly turn the cranks. Not that easy all the time and it's only noticeable on my GoPro videos. Perhaps the bearing man might chip in with more information if he reads this!

My motor is excessively noisy and its going in to be investigated later this week. I sent a video to Bosch and they said to take it to an authorised service centre.

I have noticed that is quietens down with a new chain fitted so my thinking is that reducing the chain backlash will reduce the freeness of the chainring to rattle around, even with the pedal feedback.

The unreliability of the lockring with all this trashing about is a worry too, mine has came loose 6-7 times.

I've just ordered a cheap complete ISCG05 chainguide/bash off Aliexpress to test fit. Will post findings here once I get to try it.

My Bosch CX Gen4 OEM chainring ate my pants once. Was an awkward situation but I could only keep cranking and pushed my flappy riding pants cuff through until I was free. The plastic chain guard snapped off.

I replaced the chain guard with an eThirteen model. The plastic spacers supplied, and chain-angle clearance, was critical for a quiet and rub-free operation.

Later I had to replace the original OEM chainring because of wear and chain-suck. The alignment of the new eThirteen chainring was bad…out-board to far and caused chain-rub on the plastic chain-guard. I discovered that the new eThirteen chaining didn’t need the small brass o-ring, on the original, but I left the thin plastic seal in place (added grease).

This seemed to give me the proper clearance and proper chain alignment.

Ballerina tights were not an option…anymore.😉

Anything from anybody. Just posted a similar thread in the Orbea forum and its not seeing any activity. From what I can tell it looks like ISCG but it is not. Somebody would have to make something CX motor specific. E13 did with a chain guide but not a bash guard. Seems like a popular enough motor that has been around long enough that somebody has to make something by now.

Or maybe its because the motor chassis cannot support those sort of forces?

It's not ISCG05. OneUp has one for Bosch and it works nicely (I have it on my bike). But you can only find it on some of their sites, Canada and maybe US. In EU I bought it from bike-cimponrnts.de

What they are showing on their US website is a guide, not a bash or guide/bash combo. Same as e13. This is now 2 companies that sell a CX specific guide but not bash. Why do one and not the other?
