Here is the latest weather report for Saturday..its getting better all the time ..and by 4.00pm the riding should all be over .
I would pack a long sleeved waterproof though (and eyewear for the forest section)..
We have done our best to remove protruding branches it is tight and twisty ..but not that techy..and better safe than sorry ..

Well Im not going to lie to you ..its going to be wet & dirty even if we get some respite from the rain..I would also add to that list ( everyone) a full set of dry clothes and a towel for when we finish!
I actually finished work early as I wanted to see how things were holding up in the section we tidied up a week or so ago.. mainly to see that they it been trashed by motorbikes and the good news is that apart from being a tad damp nothing has touched the trail ..
As I was setting off a group of 5 mtbers came towards me and I asked which way they had come ..and they were on a track we would be using ..I didnt need to ask its condition ..
I took a few pics ..but bear in mind that 15 mins prior to taking them I had been driving in torrential rain with flash flooding in places ..also the last pictures " puddles " carry this amount of water year round due to the fact that its a B.O.A.T ..used by both 4x4 & trail bikes ..so dont panic too much !
On a positive note I've ridden this route in just about every type of condition(s) you can think of and have never finished it with anything other than a huge grin on my face ...
You will enjoy it ..?

I’m salivating as I read this post…..
The trail we tidied a few days ago is a great ride followed by the trail through the woods also vgood.
This ride has everything. I’ve not rode nowhere near as many times as The Hodge but I’m in total agreement on the “ finish of the ride with a bud grin”

We might well have a mystery guest tomorrow ( who I've yet to meet ) ..but dont want to say who in case he cant make it ..other than he is a forum member ..
My mate Jaco has confirmed ..although it was an interesting conversation as I was connected to the info system in his car with his missus and two other family members grilling me !?

Great ride out with Drew, Jack , Jaco , Phil & Tony today ..ground conditions were as expected.. wet & mucky ..which didnt spoil the fun too much ..but for the sake of a few days we would have had dry & dusty..
A massive thank you to Drew Jack & Tony for driving for about 2.5 hours each to be here and I hope it was worth the effort ..
Good to meet up with Phil for the first time and you can tell he knows his way around a bike ..being fairly local I dont think it will be too long before we meet again ..
But a special mention must go to Jaco ..
I actually missed this but he went for a swim in one of the biggest puddles of the day the bike landed on top of him and apparently all you could see was his face sticking out of the water..when he caught up with us a little further on his leg was bleeding quite badly and I didnt really appreciate how wet he was until much later in the ride when he started shivering while the rest of us were hot after a long road climb ..
Fairly typical of him to just carry on when he could easily have called it day after our coffee stop in Blanchland ..the bloke is hard as nails ( not in an aggressive way) and at 74yrs of age is bloody inspirational ..
Extended thanks too..to Tony for the hot drinks & cake ..and to Jack for the drinks and nibbles at the end ..
These group ebike rides certainly tick all my boxes and I look forward to the next one ..NY Moors did you say Drew ..?
