Hi. Anyone could advise on home insurance and adding bikes? Looking for Insurer who doesn't require giving bikes details. I'm with Aviva Direct at the moment but they doubled the price over last 2 renewals. Their additional bikes add on is simple - bikes up to £5000/each for extra £80 per year... anyone has similar with different insurer? I change my bikes often and don't want pay amendment charges each time

I have aviva. It’s the best one. Yes home insurance gone up. But I had 2 e bikes stolen from my garage. Alarmed. Bolted. Stolen while I was in house at night. But aviva paid out. I got about £11000. It’s worth the insurance. Individual bike insurance mad expensive.

After having bikes stolen bought Asgard shed. I have bought Asgard e bike shed now. Put in garden. It’s brilliant have anchor in shed with bike bolted to ground anchor with massive chain. The whole unit is sealed. Electrics placed to charge e bike. This unit is about the best thing you can have for bike storage. Bike also has tracker- bike tray- goes in motor.

Seems we are fortunate here in Germany, when I got my first e-bike I enquired for insurance cover and was told our standard house insurance covers all the family bikes (including e-bikes) against theft for up to 5k Euro per bike whether stolen from the home or on the street.:)
